I've always wanted a Bronco or Blazer to customize into an offroad bad-ass. Finally two years ago I found this one and picked it up for under $4000.00 She's a 1988 with a mere 160,000 original miles at the time of this posting. She has just a bit of rust on the bottom edge of the tailgate behind the spare tire and on the right rear fender at the trim line. Other than that an a few minor blemishes in the paint the body is pristene. The carpet and rear seat were like new, the front buckets are worn and faded but other than that the interior is in really good shape.

She's been a vehicle of necessity since we got her but soon, hopefully this summer me and my 16 year old son will be able to park her and start fixing her up. The deal is that if he invests time and money in it to "make it his own" then he'll get to keep her. However I just don't know if I'll be able to part with her so we may end up keeping her a joint project.

We took these pictures a few days before this posting after a quick wash and wax in the yard, and posting them here to be a series of "before" pictures. Once we start rebuilding and customizing I'll be posting the pictures on following pages throughout the process.

My mechanic skills are novice at best, and I've never been involved with a restoration or customization project, so anyone who would like to make suggestions on where to start, where to get parts, etc would be more than welcome to post them on the guestbook.

At the moment, we want to put a small lift on it, tube style bumpers/brush guards, with nerf bar step rails, a roll bar with KC lights. Body work, custom paint job, wheel flares, new or rebuilt engine, and possibly aftermarket transmission.

The question remains, where to begin, and how to pay for it all? ;)
