My name is Neil and I own a 1970 El Camino. I am 19 years old and attend West Virginia University with a Political Science/Pre-Law Major. I got my El Camino in November of 2007 and it has been my pride and joy! I busted my butt for this truck. It originally had a two barrel carb and intake:JCReynoldsIV's 1970 Chevrolet El Camino

So my first upgrade was a Edlebrock 600 cfm carb and Edlebrock intake:

I put the car in several car shows, adding a tonneau cover and rear air shocks:

My first trophey:

I had new interior, with new leather seats, new headliner, and new carpet.

This car has been great and I drove it my entire senior year to school and it ran great but during my Christmas break away from college I put a .470 inch lift cam, by Comp Cams and as soon as I was tunning it, I dropped a metal rod in the spark plug hole (dumb careless mistake):

So I decided to do a complete body off frame restoration and it just started on my Spring break and here is my progress:

Here is the only bad thing with the frame, that I have to weld:

Heres the engine still on the frame:

Here are my speakers that I put into my kick panel:

Here's my bench seat:

This is where she'll be sitting until I come back from school and start working at AutoZone again :)

*note that she is covered, this picture was right before I cleaned my mess us! I will also be adding pictures when I start to restore it. I plan on sandblasting first, what a job that will be!

Great job on the Elky ! Looks like your well on your way to having a show car. Keep posting photos during the restoration. 5 BIG STARS FOR YOU ! Check out my '71 Chevelle if you get a chance. P.S. If you were to put some black band aid stripes on that bad boy our vehicles would be cousins !

Hey man, the el camino looks sweet! i'm doing all the floors inside of mine now, was considering taking the whole body off just to actually be able to get at the crossmembers and everything easier, just seemed like too much for me to get into- i give you huge credit for doing it all, looks like an awesome car overall!
