Right here is my 5th Chevrolet Caprice. It is a 1994 Caprice Classic LS. Being an LS it has some really good options.
Exterior wise, the LS offers a small badge on the front fenders behind the wheels that reads "LS" in black with a gold background. Mechanically, this car is equipped with a L99 4.3L V8 engine, firm ride suspension package, Extra capacity cooling system, 3.23 posi rear end and a rear sway bar. The headlights are automatic thanks to the Twilight Sentinel option. This car also has the cornering light option to light my way around turns. It's also great for parking at night. Originally it had come with aluminum wheels. I proptly removed them and replaced them with these steel wheels with chrome trim rings and 235/70r15 tires.
The interior color is Ruby Red. It of course has the digital speedometer cluster like all 94-96 Caprices. This car has power windows, seats, door locks and mirrors. The seats are leather and are manual recline. I swapped out the front arm rest for one from a 1995 Buick Roadmaster. Mine did not open up. This one opens to a good sized storage compartment and flip out cup holders. This car has the original floor mats which are rip and stain free just like the rug. I have installed an //Alpine 9886 in the dash.
As far as performance goes, I have custom built an air intake. I also had a custom 2.5" Catback installed. I have factory exhaust manifolds to factory cats. I have 2.5" Intermediate pipes with turbo mufflers dumped at a 45 degree angle towards the rear tires.
UPDATE
I have since installed MSD cap rotor coil and wires. I have also installed comp cams pro magnum 1318 1.6 Roller Rockers and 915 beehive valve springs. (See page 2)
This L99 engine is comng out. I have a wrecked 1994 Buick Roadmaster wagon that will be donating it's engine to my Caprice. It has 110k miles and runs EXCELLENT. I will be performing the swap in my driveway. I have ordered 1.6 Comp Cam Pro Magnum Roller Rockers part #1318-16. These are the bolt in type for use on stock heads. I will be getting a custom cam ground from Advanced Induction and new valve springs to support it. I also need a good set of headers to allow greater flow of the extra duration from the new cam. After that I will have the Buick computer re-programmed for these mods. COMPLETED PICS BELOW.
LT1 SWAP COMPLETE
I am real excited about this. The car is a straight beast now. When I dropped it in I installed a Corvette starter. I also bought a bunch of parts to go into the motor but I didnt have time.
I did the swap a few weeks ago just getting around to updating. My fellow BADASS of NE club members came down from New Hampshire to help me out! Here are a few pics.
