It wasn't until Pontiac put out the fastback version of the Fiero that I was hooked. I bought my first in 1993. It was a black 1987 GT. I still drive it to work today.
In 2007, I decided I needed a project Fiero. I always wanted an '88 so I began the hunt. I found it here on CarDomain http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2261804

A little Carfax history on the car:
> June 28, 1988 Purchased in Fredricksburg, Virginia
> August 20, 1999 Titled in Lake Mills, Wisconsin
> October 17, 2003 Titled Augusta, Maine
> October 26, 2004 Titled in Bolton, Connecticut
> January 2006 Titled in Woonsocket, RI
> April 14, 2007 Purchased by me : )
> May 31, 2007 Titled in Hendersonville, TN
After 2 decades of Northern winters this car was in need of some TLC. Luckily for me it was just extensive surface rust. I was not in to modding out the car. Just wanted it to be in good shape to drive to work everyday. Here are some shots along the way.
Front Suspension and Steering- Stripped and powder coated. All bushings and balljoints replaced.

Floor Pan- Coated with POR15 and Chassis Coat. All fluid lines replaced with stainless steel from Classic Tube.

I
Interior- Stripped interior, recoated any rust, installed new head unit and factory subwoofer, repaired dash delamination, repaired ignition key switch in column, repaired cruise control, replaced bad gauges, rewired factory wiring mistake, and installed Mr. Mike leather seats.

The engine ran OK, but needed some refreshing. Sand/bead blasted almost everything. Powder coated brackets, plenum, and valve covers. Nitroplate ceramic coated new exhaust to avoid future rust and contain heat. Installed calibrated injectors from Cruise Performance.

Next came the paint- I am not a fan of the factory yellow chosen for the 1988 Fiero. I chose a yellow from a favorite Corvette up the road from me- Corvette Mellenium Yellow. I started of with the factory wheels, but fell in love with these now discontinued HP Design HPR5 wheels. They are 18" x 8".

Here are a few more shots after paint and wheels

Of course, there were a lot more pics taken along the way, but these are the highlights. This and my 1987GT are used to commute to work everyday.
