(1)Intro (2)Exterior (3)Interior (4)Stereo (5)Engine (6) Other Interests (7) FOR SALE

UPDATES: 06/26/09 I've been driving the car for several weeks now. Things seem to be pretty much all in line. I've got a slight lifter noise off the right bank. This is certainly from having installed older lifters in effort to resolve what I originally strictly a lifter issue. However, having successfully replaced the oil pump and new electronic oil pressure guage, the oil pressure appears right in line and lifter noise is minimal. I only get slight lifter noise at higher rpms after engine has warmed up. So, I've determined I'm simply going to replace all lifters on the right bank to fix the issue. AS part of the oil pump work, I went ahead and replaced the cam and crank timing sprockets with the newer VG parts which allow for the better round toothed, 100k mile, timing belt. Naturally I upgraded the timing belt to the 100k mile belt. I've also again redone the intake piping, pre-turbo. I've also replaced the oil feed line for the turbo as it begun to leak (my fault). It leaked becuase I had allowed my intake to put pressure against it near the fitting at the turbo and it ultimately cracked. I also recently replaced my front driver's side ball lower ball joint.

I've also added a gel cell battery into the front driver's fender for additional power and reserve up front given I've placed my red top Optima battery in the trunk. No electrical issues have been noted. Although, my fuse on the memory wire off the Clarion CD player keeps blowing. I fear it is an internal short with the unit itself as I've inspected the wire with no identifiable break or short noted. I've installed a newer Ungo alarm system. It allows for remote start, but I'm not interested in this feature given my car is a manual. As part of the new installation, I've installed an electric trunk release. I installed this with stock Maxima parts and set it up to allow manual release from beside the driver's seat as well. I've also installed a heated mirror switch with a set of heated mirrors. Truly a great feature IMO...anyone who has had them knows what I mean! Still got a lot to do on the car in terms of getting some things taken car of and increasing the joy of driving her daily. Will continue to update!

I've also bought another Maxima. It's a '90 dark gray Max. Needs a lot of TLC to include lots of front end body parts (which I have) and a torque converter for the transmission. It also needs some serious rust removal and metal work in the rear. The rust does not affect the stability or strucural integrety of the car, but definately requires attention before it becomes a daily driver! It will also require a front driver's control arm (front bushing blown). Getting to be pretty common on these cars.

4/12/09 I have installed the oil filter relocation kit. The oil filter is now located directly beside the fuel filter via a custom made bracket. I've installed the new oil pump along with new timing belt and gears. I found a crack in my intake piping; pre-turbo. Subsequently I've had to redo my plumbing. I've also installed a newer and fancier Ungo alarm system. Has remote start which I will not install or utilize. With this alarm, I've also added an electronic trunk popper which operates through the alarm. In doing this, I've set it up to also keep the manual release located beside the driver's seat. Additionally, I'm finishing up installation of a secondary battery. I'm installing a gel cell battery in the driver's side fender. I've had to fabricate a battery support and securing brackets; the process is near completion, just some weding and painting to finish up. Also, I've installed my new electronic oil pressure gauge. I also installed a newer side mirror switch which has the mirror defronst function. Since I've updated the side mirrors from a newer 3rd gen and have this feature, I will simply have to make sure my vehicle has the wires inside the doors in order to utilize this funcion. I've otherwise simply tried to clean up the engine compartement and streamline my piping as well as replace some damaged vacuum lines and repair any cracked wiring. Specific to the interior, I've replaced my cracked leather center console lid with a "new to me" mint leather lid I purchased off a fellow www.maxima.org friend. Ultimately, I hope to have this car back on the road by the first of the week following Easter Sunday! I hope to have new images of these updates available soon.

Additionally, I have some new parts for sale. As always, I can provide picks!
