(8/4/09): So contemplating my next step with this car. I had bought an aftermarket MAF sensor from Jet Performance that is for the 06 SS Cobalt. Yeah, now time for me to do my work and customize it to my K&N intake since it's not a direct bolt-up. Gotta bore out the hole a bit and drill for new mounting holes to the intake. Yeah, and trying to find a sweet set of new rims as well, and that's a problem. HAHA not cause I can't find anything, just I don't know what to go for. I was initially thinking all flat black for that "murdered out" appearance, or painted spokes w/ machined lip cause I simply hate chrome (I'm a tire guy at Sears and I see what happens to the inner lip of chrome rims). So yeah, up for ideas if anyone has any, and I got a few of my own. Going to try n keep the updates coming as they happen.. Later C.D. community.
**UPDATE** So today ( 3/25/09 ) I went to Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ to simply see how fast my baby is.. And well, let me tell you, she impressed me on the very first run. She flew through the traps at 95.54mph for a time of 14.93 in the 1/4mi. Now, from what I know from my GM mechanic buddy, that's pretty damn good for a near fully stock car. If I didn't hop too much in first off the launch, my R/T may have been lower, decreasing my 60ft, and increasing my speed to almost 100mph, and time of close to mid 14's. For what it's worth, I loved it, and it was purely worthwhile.. Well this was just a quickie.. so enjoy and gotta love that GM power.
Hey guys, this is my 2004 Saturn Ion REDLINE that I just picked up yesterday ( 3/11/09 ) from a local used car lot. Bought it with under 43k on miles, and financing for under $8g's. What an awesome ride I must say, GM and Saturn did an awesome job. Despite not being able to get an SS Cobalt for a cheap price, I'm humble and glad that I found this Saturn. It has all the comforts of the Recaro leather sport seats front, a great sound system w/ Infinity components, an AWESOME performing engine w/ that Eaton M62 blower, complimented by the K&N intake, and B&M short shifter, all of which the previous owner had installed. Now the thanks must go out to Marano & Sons Auto in Garwood, NJ for having this car, and the owner Jim, for being a great guy and working out a great deal for me. On page 2 you'll find all the pictures that got uploaded, and I'll try to get the other ones uploaded later.. So for now, enjoy...
