1966 Lincoln Continental Coupe- bought March, 10, 2009

This is wonderful new 1966 coupe.  This sucker has black leather bucket seats and console, power vent windows, power locks, 8 track with stereo option (5 speakers).  Its got a few issues like lots of mold and corrosion so some parts need replaced but I have tons of 66 and 67 coupe parts I have collected to finish this car off.  I also have a 1967 Continental coupe (look in my garage).  This 66 needs some body work, electrical work, brake system, a major oil change.  Its been sitting since 1976 when the brake line broke and it was never repaired.  The car was stored indoors until 2 yeasr ago when a guy bought it and never has time for it.  I bought it off of him and now its going to be restored.

I may make this car a sleeper custom.  Stock outside and inside, but underneath it will be custom.  I might use my 1959 cylinder heads, tri power intake and carbs, roller cam, C6 with shift kit and 2,000 stall converter, Ford 9" with 3.50 gears, and some small parts engine mods to make this thing wake up!  I am thinking of a bright red paint job keeping the black vinyl roof.  The red was a 1966 color so it will appear stock.  I will use the stock hub caps (nice looking in my opinion), wider white walls, a slight drop in ground clearance, flowmaster exhaust, and the engine mods.  This thing should be fun to drive and look stock at the same time!  Hope you like it!

'67 right - not '69.

You certainly got your hands full. Still, '69s coupes are pretty rare and exceptionally "classic". Be extremely careful opening up the dash, and consider keeping the 462; although 460s were fitted to many '69s (in fact, a 462 '69 coupe is even more rare now that I think about it). Take your time and plan it all out (whichit sounds like you are). Great motorcar. Cheers! Eric Email me at alloyed2sea at yahoo dot com for parts suppliers.
