DAY 9
Lucky me! I got to spend the entire day in the garage!
Sanding, primering and bondoing, PLUS lowering the front end of the car.
Here are some "during" and afters of the drivers side quarter panel. This one only required 2 sessions of sanding and body filler.

On to the lowering...
Okay, I know there is some controversy on cutting springs. I did a lot of research and found (on this kind of car) that spring cutting works alright. I went to a MGB racing website and found some pointers on how to cut em' and did just that.
Here are a couple of pics on getting them out. It was pretty easy. Loosen up the front (outboard) bolts and remove the inboard ones (with a jack under the spring pan) then let the pan down and take out the spring.

I started with 10 1/8 inches then cut about 2 coils off to a remainder of 8 1/4 (a little less than 2 inches off).

This is the effect. I AM LOVING IT!

Here is a comparison to my stock '65. It is about 2-3 inches lower in the front so far.
When I was underneath I found out that the 66 has a has an after market header and cherry bomb muffler . :)
I am thinking that this car needs to be nick named the six six bomber; maybe go with a WWII Bomber theme.

50's Pin up girl on the drivers side lower fender?
