This is my 1985 Ford Mustang GT. It was assembled in June of 1985 and has a 5.0L (302cid) 4V (Four Venturi Carburetor) V8 H.O.(High Output).
I bought the car February 22nd, 2003. Most of the modifications to the car are credited to the former owners. Since I've owned it I've replaced the tires, brakes, removed the trailer hitch, installed a Pro 5.0 Short Throw shifter, fuel pump, and removed the already disconnected A/C compressor and condenser. I have many more plans for it in the future however.
These pictures were taken shortly after I bought the car. Since then the body has deteriorated somewhat.. I am in the process of obtaining funds to begin it's restoration.
The engine is a 5.0L V8 4V H.O. Stock this engine makes 210hp @ 4400rpm, and 270 ft/lb @ 3200rpm. This is not what my car makes now. In fact I have no idea what it makes now. Engine upgrades I know of currently include:
-Aftermarket Cylinder Heads (Unknown Brand)
-K&N Filter Charger Kit
-Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake Manifold
-Unequal Length Shorty Headers (Installed in '01, I don't know the brand)
-Custom 2" Exhaust
-Flowmaster Mufflers
-Performance Clutch (Said former owner, needs replacement now)
-A/C Removal
-Autolite Platinum Spark Plugs
The engine was also rebuilt by Jasper Engines and Transmissions a few years back. The transmission is a T-5 5-Speed Manual with a cable clutch. This is one of my highest priorities to repair. My 2nd and 3rd gear synchronizers are going bad. I am thinking about a rebuilding it or buying a Tremec replacement.
The axle is another future upgrade for me. Currently installed is a 7" Stock axle with 2.73:1 ratio! This allows me to drive 80mph at a mere 2000rpm in fifth gear, and it's capable of driving 80 in second gear (though it is passed its power curve).
The interior is Charcoal cloth (Articulated sport) with red piping on the seats. The seats offer pretty good lateral support, and I think the headrests are pretty cool. And check out the speedo!
Here is what the engine looks like under the valve covers. I assume it was painted when it was rebuilt in '98.
I've gone racing at Milan Dragway in Milan, MI four times since I've owned the car. I (#47) ran my best time against a Saturn Ion Redline (#023):
More recently I raced at Milan again in May of 2007. This timeslip is between me (#121) and my friend Matt's 1993 Pontiac Trans Am LT1 6-Speed (#120), and was my best run to date.
