A little background on this truck. My grandpa was the 3rd owner. He bought it for $400 in the seventies and parked it in the backyard in 85. About 7 years later he told me if I could get it running I could have it. A handpump, battery and brakes and that original motor fired right up.

For the age and spending its life in Utah, the truck had minimal rust. Most of it was surface. The only part that had to be replaced was the left rear fender. We pulled that off of an old converted trailer.

My favorite characteristics of these trucks are those curved back windows.

After my first tour in Iraq, he called me and said he wanted to suprise me, but he was too excited and couldn't wait. Old Blue went into the shop that day. 2 years later, this is what surfaced...

I wanted to keep everything as original as possible. However, baby blue paint does not go well with chrome. It still has the original inline 6, 4 speed trans and enclosed driveline.
One of the previous owners had welded a steel platform over the original wood beams. Now that it is not a work truck, oak has been laid and the spacers match the exterior.
The interior still needs work, but what fun is a truck that doesn't need work?

Everyone has their suggestions: 350, BB Chev swap, Caddy seats, chopped top, 9" Ford rear, blah blah blah. Not going to happen. As long as they keep making a 6 volt battery I will keep buying them.
