Prelude Seat Install
Some people have asked how I installed these seats. Here ya go.
Parts used:
- Stock CRX outside rail
- Stock inside Prelude rail
- Flat barstock
- 90 degree barstock
Special Tools used:
- Welder
- Grinder (I used a circular saw with abrasive cutting wheel)

I like these seats and I put them in because my stock CRX seats wore out. These seats fit the car and me well. I really like the "flip forward" lever mounted up high on the side of the seat because I can flip the seat through an open window and I don't have to bend over to the floor.
Before you start, take your time and think things through. Dry fit everything and make sure it will work before you weld it together. Don't take shortcuts! Make sure that you mount your seats with all 4 bolts and that your welds are strong. This mod must survive an accident! Do this mod and your own risk!
The CRX outside rail bolted right onto the Prelude seat, but the holes that bolt the seat to the floor don't line up. Therefore, I needed to fabricate custom brackets to relocate the bolt holes.
To start, I drilled out the rivets that hold on the stock bolt brackets. (the two black circles in the right picture) Then I ground the bottom flat in preparation to weld on the new bracket.

The rear seat bracket was made from flat barstock welded on at an angle and then rounded off (pic on left) The front seat bracket was made from 90 degree angle barstock that was opened to match the angle of the stock rail (pic on the right)

The Prelude rail was modified in the same way as the CRX rail. I drilled out the rivets to remove the stock brackets, ground the bottom flat, and welded on the new mounting brackets.
The front seat bracket was made from 90 degree angle barstock that was opened to match the angle of the stock rail. The rear mount also made from 90 degree angle that was ground to the shape you see below.

Once all the brackets were welded on I placed the seat in that car and located where to drill the holes for the bolts.
These are the finished product. Starting from the upper left corner and going clockwise; right rear, left rear, front right, front left.

I also had to trim the bottom of the plastic part on the outside of the seat to give the seat clearance to slide.
Thats about it, I hope this helps anyone that is putting in new seats.
How to lower the seat
If you are tall like me then you might be interested how to lower the seat. Since the rails bolt to the sides of the Prelude seat, all you need to do is take the seat apart to get access to the seat pan so you can relocate the mounting bolt holes.
-Once you get the seat pan out, bolt the seat rails to the floor and then place the seat pan between them.
-Align the pan where you want it and mark the location of the new bolt holes.
-Drill new holes where you marked and weld in new mounting nuts.
-Reassemble the seat, bolt it in.
-Now you have a seat that is 3/4 to 1 inch lower.
