This is my 66 Mercury Comet.

I dont know much about it, but I do have a story of my own on it. I am a Deputy Sheriff in my county, and responding to a call back in the woods that I never been before I observed this car seated outside of the callers house. The caller was complaining about their neighbors who little kids were being bad, but my attention was on this car. I had never seen another Mercury comet, but I knew it was a mercury. I could tell it had been sitting in its current spot for years and had not been touched. When the owner was done complaining, I asked him about the car. He stated, I'LL sell it to you for a good price! Those words were very true.
The next day I was back at his house with my father. He recognized my dad and they started talking. (My dad didn't know him, but they knew alot of the same people.) They continued while I looked the car over. I could only find three rust spots, the trunk and floor was solid, the interior complete, but in need of a change, the engine all there. All the glass good, and paint, rough but cleanable. So as we prepared to leave again, he told us a good price. We talked about it the whole way home, and that evening I made my decision. I wanted it. I called him back that night. The conversation went as follows.
Me: Sir, I like your car alot and
Owner: Its yours for ????? (A $1,000 less than the price he said two hours earlier)
me: I'll be there tomorrow
From beginning to end, it took me three days to get this car, and its not leaving me. I LOVE IT, ITS DIFFERENT. Oh and I was able to crank it up and drive it on my car trailer.
Again, I dont know much, but it was redone in the early 90's, the owner could not pay off the loan, and the car was put up for auction. The new owner won it, and had it ever since. All the current work was done to it before him, so he new little other than to run it.
