CarMechanicMark's 2004 Chevrolet Blazer

The Chevrolet Blazer ZR2 my first new vehicle purchase ever. Like most car mechanics I have driven junk for most of my 25 year driving career. Then one day I said "Mark " It's time to get a vehicle you can drive in instead of work on . Off to the chevy dealer I worked at for an employee discount and a new truck.

CarMechanicMark's 2004 Chevrolet Blazer The 2004 Chevrolet Blazer ZR2 was the n

ext to the last year of this body style. It had proven technology like a throtle cable instead of the troublesome drive by wire system. It had the 4.3 liter old faithful V6 instead of the I5 like in the trail blazers. I also owned several auto repair manuals that covered the 4.3 L Chevy.

The truck was deeply discounted due to the release of the new style trail blazer. My Momma always said that they make the best vehicles right before they kill them . So far momma was right! Knocking on wood but not one single warranty repair or even check engine light repair has been required.

OK I Jinxed it : Changed my oil today. Could not believe what I was seeing. My beloved ZR2 model year 2004 that I bought brand new with 4 miles on her Is leaking oil and P/S fluid . This Truck has 19,846 miles on her. And remember I shelled out the 23k cash because I wanted a vehicle I did not have to work on. Well look at the pictures.

You can click on the upper left picture and clearly see that I was screwed . The automatic RTV machine must have run out of glue when they put together my motor . You can see plenty of RTV on the upper left and then it just disapears. So here I go resealing a composite timing cover. thanks Chevrolet . Oh and the power steering pump is leaking from the front shaft seal.

Yes I'm still mad At my 2004 Chevrolet Blazer ZR2 for leaking oil all over my driveway. But She got a bath today and thought I would snap a couple of Clean shots.

The ZR2 Comes with all the options and GM's posilock rear differential! General Motors Promotional pictures that where released for the 2004 ZR2 Blazer are below. The truck looks real good in the unique yellow color.

Thanks for the comment, your truck looks pretty good too. Wish I had a newer Z sometimes (2din dash, nice seats, no EGR, etc). Any mods? You on ZR2USA.com?

Nice looking truck. I like that body style. Thanks for your comment on mine. My project is just starting and may take a while. Is Bradenton anywhere near Palatka?
