This is my 1971 Toyota Celica. My dad purchased it new in california. He drove it until 1981 when he had a new 18RG DOHC Dual sidedraft carburetored engine put in. After the motor was put in the car never drove right and he eventually parked it and got a new car.

It was parked next to my house covered with a tarp and forgot about. I eventualy uncovered it and thought it was a cool car but never got interested in it. It was moved to make room for a new garge we had built. Not long after it was moved i met my best friend who was in to these cars, and wanted to see it, when he pulled the trap off it and saw that it was a 1971 celica he was aleady excited but when we got the hood open finally and he saw that it had the 18RG we decided to start working on it.

Bad bad bad adz. What a gem to find! Keep your website updated as you progress with the chassis. I just overhauled my '92 Celica Turbo All-Trac, and set the engine back to Toyota WRC racing specs. Squeezed 353WHP @24.5 PSI boost out of the 2000cc 4-cyl block. Dyno chart with boost display is posted. Take a quick look when you have a minute: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3142834 Later...

Now that is a nice little gem of a resto you got there. Can't wait to see that one all cleaned up. I always liked the old Celecas.
