This is my YJ. It went from bone stock to the way you see it here in a little less than six months of burning the midnight oil, working outside from July. 08 to Feb. 09 . It's almost where I want it. I have always wanted a red one so I went on a hunt for a 92-95, gray dash, no air, 4.0, AX-15, with a clean body & frame and I ended up with this one for $4000 total. It has original paint and has almost no rust. The door hinges had never been split and still had the black teflon pin inserts and paint on the hinge nut and threads. That will be the last of that since I hate doors when the weather gets decent. Even the newest YJ's are coming up on their 15th model year and it is starting to get harder to find the nice ones at a reasonable price. This is my third YJ and I couldn't see myself ever wanting another Wrangler model. I know that so many people don't like the looks or ride/handling of a YJ. Probably much the same way I feel about many of the traits of CJ's, TJ's, and now JK's. I like all the SWB jeeps but I love a YJ. I personally have always liked the look and feel especially when lifted just a little higher than the norm. I love the simplicity and reliability. I can't think of to many other vehicles that are more Reliable, Capable. Predictable, Simple, or Aggressive looking (IMHO) as a 91- 95 YJ with a 4.0 with a AX-15. I think the peak of the look and functionality of a lifted YJ that can be driven daily legally in my state and comfortably is a SOA with no trans drop, and no body lift. on a 33" to 37' tire. Not to many people do this lift in NJ on YJs because of the hassle with inspection but keep in mind you can make a SOA pretty lavish for leafs or do it really on the cheap and either way end up with a great lift. After having three of these Jeeps in all different combinations and experiencing other peoples YJ's I've come to the conclusion that this is what works best for me. So that's why I did this one the way it is. Hope you enjoy and leave me a comment if you think I can help you or you know something that might help me. Thanks for stopping by.
Trying to get a pair of Thor Soundwedges with no rainwater/cup holder. I don't like those newer ones.
Also waiting on the warm weather so I can clean up the bottom side and give her a fresh coat of black. Maybe I'll even give it a wash with something other than Palmolive. Then finally buff off the rattle can overspray from the dealer's "Detailing".
A winch is in the forefront of my mind but before that I've got to get a few more everyday things completed not to mention putting my Better Half's 2000 XJ Classic on 245/75/16's. I'll have to let her win on that one cause every now and then I like to cheat on my YJ with her XJ. Then I'll finally be able to get my winch.
I'm also still trying to decide whether to flush the factory tails or do a set of round flush trailer led's. I've had them both but I'm still torn. One way is brighter and cooler looking but then you have to do some goofy reverse light or none and the other looks like the way the factory should have done it except I have to take a nice chunk of fenderwell away from the quarter panel. Decisions Decisions

My Better Half got a kick out of my heat gun and the 3M adhesive cleaner(use it - if you don't, nothing is even close). Those WAY TO BIG splash marks and WRANGLER that was written for the blind was not my thing so they had to go immediately. I also removed all the silver badging and changed it to black and I'll be getting some kind of decent black seatcovers for the buckets.

Standard columns suck in a lifted yj, especially over 6" of lift for me
AHH Better

Always a no turning back moment especially with a three piece emailed template. But insurance well worth paining over
