Subwoofer Box -
I just built a subwoofer enclosure using 3/4" mdf and these plans

You may need to register to access the plans, but hey if you own a 3rd gen this is a good site to hang out on and registration is free.

There are pieces you have to cut out after you get it together, after cutting the piece out roughly with a jigsaw, I used a trimming tool and a flush mount router bit to get the edges flush.

Test fit…they weren’t kidding about having to maneuver it a bit...after some force it dropped in place.

Here’s a tip to make the top pieces and get it flush around the edges. Use cardboard to make a “rough” template. Then take bits of cardboard or paper and fill in all the gaps. Use tape to hold the pieces in place. Once your happy with it, place your template on a sheet of mdf and trace it out.
This is a good way to get it close the first time, then use your sander to finesse the edges.
I used masonite because I had some scrap laying around, but cardboard works just as good.

I used a circle jig to cut the holes for my 10" woofers, fits like a glove

I highly encourage you to take a sander and round the mdf in this area….it will help tremendously in getting the box in a little easier, this is where it hangs.

Finished box

I got it finished, I haven't mounted my subs yet but I made a removable cover that is wrapped in the same color carpet that I have in my car.
I used a pair of old kicker 10" speaker grills and fastened them into the board to protect the subs.
Trying to go for a stealth look.....don't want anyone to see my subs from outside the car.

If you like this style of speaker box, I build and sell them for $199 + shipping each.
