Non of this would have been possible if I hadn't recieved my Bi-Lateral lung transplant on my B-Day July of 2005 at the University of Utah Hospital Salt Lake City, Utah.
Thanks to all that helped me along my seven year journey before & after & to present time with my transplant: My wife, both my parents & my wife's parents, both our familys and friends, community business friends Maag drug, Portneuf Hospital & Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Center, and of course all my local doctors & to all the many doctors, surgeons, rispirotory staff & to all nurses & the 2East staff that put up with me at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. You are all the best ever!

The link below is to my other webpage & blog to the Natoinal Transplant & Catastrophic injury Assistance Fund (NTAF) a non-profit orginization, so that I can raise money for my Bi-Lateral lung transplant that I recieved on my B-Day back in 7/12/05. I try to keep it updated for people to read for those that are interested. Please become an organ/tissue & eye donor. All you need to do is have the indorsement added to your drivers license. You may just save someone's LIFE'(s).

The 66' Chevelle 300 was givin to me by my uncle John the summer of 1977 after some appartment tenants moved out and left the car for rent money. I was just sixteen going into the 11th grade. My uncle's mechanic (Cecil) went through the egine he painted it the color I picked out, Emeron blue. Then I put some slotted mag wheels on it. Since then I have been the biggist Chevelle & muscle car buff enthusiast ever.
In 1982 I wrecked the 66' resulting in taking off the body to replace the frame. My dad and Cecil helped me lift the body off the frame and replace it in our garage. Then Cicil painted it again with same color.
My 66' has had a 230 straight six in it, a 396 BB and after sitting without an engine for 19 yrs it now has a Chevy 427 BB. This car has been a very good driver. This car is very sentimental and I vowed to never sell it a long time ago and that's why I still have it.
I was going to keep it all stock and finish it out and then I bought another Chevelle in 1983. It was a white 1967 Chevelle Malibu all stock with aqua color interior with a 283 w/2 speed power glide.
The 67' was a very good driver & I sold it in 1993. My plan was to fix up both the 66' & 67' and put them both in car shows but that never panned out. It takes alot of money. However I still have the 66' and I'm now trying to follow through with one of my dreams and restore the 66' the way I've always invisioned it for 32 years. One day it will be in a car show.
In 2006 I was ready to start my 66' project again. A machinist turned me on to someone selling a BB Chevy 427 that he rebuilt back in 2000 and the guy was asking $2500. So I called the dude up, went and looked at it. The guy said it was given to him and didn't know what it came out of, but that it was indeed a 69' Chevy BB. I did some searching and from what I can figure out it came out of a 69' Chevy Impala or a Chevy Biscayne. I'm going to run the casting numbers and do some more searching. The engine and the car sat another two yrs. until Aug. of 2008 & in Nov. 1st 2008 I finally got the rest of the engine & trans together and dropped her in that old blue chevy 66'.
I've done this type of work off and on since I've owend the 66' car for 32yrs and the 67' Chevelle that I had for 10yrs. I've learnd many different know hows, tips & tricks, things from Cicil and other shop mechanics, friends & books along the way. I've always worked on my own Chevelle's & my everyday driver cars as much as possible for the enjoyment & to save me money. I've learned over the years if you want it done right the way you want it, do it yourself. You can do what ever you put your mind to. Working on your own vehicle gives lots of satisfaction and it's lots of fun.
Here some earlier pictures back in day.

This is when I was trailer trash living in a trailer court for about 3yrs. Just kidding Ha Ha! Hee! Hee!

The car sat all summer until I replaced the starter 1988

This is what happens when you let a women drive your car. The tire was flat and she drove on it anyway. Duh!
1966 Chevelle 300 2door post Sedan

After the Chevelle sat for 19 years it finally makes it's debut to see the
light again for a new makeover 2004
Ready to bring old blue back to life again 2004. Restoration project is in progress to restore it.
I bought new rubber for the car in 2007, Grand Prix Perforner GT Radials on 15' American Racing 5 spoke aluminum rims that I've had since 1982. I've since bought new center caps and had to buy new lug nuts. The rims had to have the lug nut holes precisioned drilled out for the new lugs to fit.

This is the 69' Chevy 427 BB I bought in Nov. 2006. Going to make some little changes

Pressure plate and clutch assembly

Putting together the fly wheel, pressure plate and clutch

This is a 68' or 69' Chevy truck bell housing that came off my Chevy 396 BB same block.
I need to find the correct one

Placing in the newly rebuilt starter. Take apart the soleniod to easisly engage the starter with the fly wheel. Then line up & shim it so that it will ingauge correctly with the flywheel so that it don't chew up the teeth or break them off.

Tiki helping with the shimming

I ended up using all three shims

Just bought this bell housing in good used condition for $10 at the Firebird Raceway swap meet

Changing out the stock intake manifold for an Edelbrock performer and a Holley 750 carb.
Don't forget to cover up the the open part of the engine, push rods, lifters & cam area like did, so that foreign objects and little pieces of gasket & sealer don't fall down into the engine. This could ruin your engine. Take a putty knife and scrape off the old gaskets and the old gasket sealer.

Lay in some plastic over the open part of the engine to keep out foreign objects

Make sure the area on the block where new gackets are to be placed is very clean.
Spray a coating of gasket sealer on the gaskets and put them in place.

Most of your intake manifold gasket kits come with two rubber pieces for the end caps of
the block. You can use them or not and just use the high temp silicone. Just make sure
you get a good thick bead of silicone on the end the end caps of block. Squeeze a good
thick bead on to insure a good seal for the intake manifold.

Edelbrock performer Holley 750 carb

Be very careful tightening down aluminum parts. After installing this Edelbrock performer intake manifold, I cracked it in front all the way through to the thermastat opening. I was tighting in the nipple in for the antifreeze return to the waterpump and tightend it to tight. I had to buy a new one to replace it. Outch!!

Take some type of bolt sealer and brush onto the intake manifold bolts. I used some
permatex sealant.

Tighten from the middle and work out to the ends of manifold. Go back and
forth to oppisite sides criss crossing diagonally, gradually tightening to about 35
to 40 torque pounds. Go slow and be careful not to crack the aluminum intake.
