Well here is the latest edition to my family of suburbans (lol) aaaand my first try at Cardomain(ia). Been a fan for years but never put my own cars on here. Heres my "new"1980 3.8 liter turbo T-Top Monte Carlo

I had never even known that this was an available package on the monte's at all and when i was on craigslist last week i was thinkin it was a typo.... The car has reletively low miles and a very straight body with the only actual dent being in the worse possible place.. on the hood next to the factory turbo "bulge" as my wife and i call it.

I had actually been looking to buy a bimmer from a friend and was all set to get it but there was a problem with the check engine light that kinda made me nervous(instant emissions and inspections failure). So i instead packed up the family and rode the 45 miles to check this out, not knowing WHAT to expect

Well i was honestly pretty daggone excited to get out there after talking with the then owner of the car, Very nice older guy named Jim, and was not let down at all when i saw it in person...$1300s later it was mine!!! i have loved this body style for years. at least since the mid 80's in high school when my best friends Dad had one. we used to hustle around in that everytime we gotta chance. Matter-a-fact I learned to drive in my parents 76 MC so i guess i had Monte Carlo in my blood

The interior is Beautiful... not too much damage at all but i DO have to replace the carpet. The original 8-track is still in place with some strange little Realistic cassette deck attached where im guessing the Ash tray had been. Haven'nt been able to get that to work as of yet but i will figure it out probably just before i change it ... Hey does anyone know how to add a Cd changer or new head unit while keeping the 8 track functional?...yes i do still have 8 tracks and really want to keep that in the system if possible

It really runs great and thats the most important thing... not to mention it has a current inspection and NO NEED FOR EMISSIONS..YESS!!!

I gotta replace the rubber for the T-tops and repair the windshield wiper switch... which, when i turned on to test the wipers, never shut off... it only went back to intermittent and i actually had to take the fuse out for the ride back home. I also need to figure out what to do with the turbo...whats the simplest and most cost effective (CHEAP)thiNG i should do to make some minor upgrades to the engine.. i know i will change the exhaust but what about cold air intakes for this 4 barrel carb'd 3.8 buick turbo engine? ANY suggestions would be great!!

Im thinking of going with a 14-18 inch wire rim i think maybe a 100 spoke Dayton with some white walls OR maybe a sporty type rims???? who knows... just getting the car and plan on keeping it for a LOOOOOng while....Thanks for checking it out. Hit me back, Be Blessed!!
