Ok, this is the Technical page which highlights what all I've done to Da 6, so take notes......

In the beginning I was looking for ways to get cold air into the engine without absorbing engine heat, so I borrowed the intake snorkel from a V6 626 and ran it into a cone filter with a knee brace wrapped around it, along with capping off the resonator and completely removing it...

So I also got rid of my FS03 Muffler for a KL03 off a '93 626 V6

I got bored with the intake set up so I bought a replacement, complete with a shielded cone filter, rubber hosing and IAT sensor screw in. I ran the piping behind the headlight and could be grabbed by inserting my hand through the hole in the front of my bumper

Then I bought some ractive 9mm plug wires (for a 4 banger MX6)and swapped my stock NGK's for some Denso Iridium spark plugs @ $13 a piece (ouch!!!)

Next, I rebuilted my TB and did some real good cleaning on it, and while I was at it, I installed some Outlaw Engineering throttle body & Intake Manifold spacers

Then I supercharged it and painted everything black with custom built ceramic headers (I'm Just playing :D, it's a supercharged Protege5 from Cali that was at the Road Atlanta racetrack / car show back in '03)

So I got some advice from a true engine builder on power, and he showed me a trick to getting more speed without spending big, and that resulted in me buying an extra IAT sensor and relocating it to the end of the Intake piping hose where it could read the incoming air at the entrance of the pipe. But as an economy method for the winter time, I leave the underhood IAT connected instead of having the signal be read down in the front bumper.

I replaced the rear stabilizer bar with that of a '99 626, being that it's thicker and does wonders for my lighter weight car (can you say 2716 lbs with 3/4 tank of gas?)

Then came the Megan racing headers and while I was at it, I took my demel and port matched the exhaust port to match the gasket for better flow. It mounted up fine, but it pushed my mid pipe back into my gas tank so I had to remove the resonator to make everything work out

I installed RR racing front motor mount inserts as well

Here's a Probe GT strut next to a Probe SE strut, with the 626 strut being bigger than the 2

So here's the last things I've done to my car..... I cut a hole into the frame right in front of the battery and relocated my intake piping to it, sensor and all

new update (4/27/04)
I custom made myself a short throw shifter and cut off exactly 1& 5/8's inch off. I didn't want to cut off too much because of it being too stubby to reach. And as a touch, I welded the rod 15 degrees closer to me so that it wouldn't get in the way of the cup holder.... Now I can enjoy those 32oz cups without having to worry about the damn shifter in the way!!!

I'M DOING WATER INJECTION!!!
Here's some pics of the manifold I've been working on for the longest, But it's just about complete. I've ported my IM out and also did an extrude honing process (at least a form of it) to the IM, but with a sand blaster. The final process is to use brake dust and give it one last blow.

blac_shine007's 1995 Mazda 626
The manifold is complete now and all that is left is just installing the water injection kit onto the actual car itself.

And of course the coolest of all, I modified the 3rd brake light to display "626" when I hit the brake

Very creative mods, will certainly reference this page as I build up my "new" 97 626. First thing I'm doing though is shaving the badging off the trunk, then finding a spoiler.
