General SpecsI found some other pictures of another version of the GTR. This is the Carerra GTS. Its almost identical to the GTR other than that it produced around 250hp rather than the GTR's 375. The front mounted intercooler was much larger on the GTR making it able to handle the 125 more horses it made.Type Water Cooled Turbocharged Inline 4 Displacement 2000 cc / 122 cubic inches Horsepower 375 hp @ 6400 rpm 0-60 mph 4.7 seconds Top speed 320 km/h / 199 mph Ok, just for starters, i do not own this car. I have never even seen one on the road before and i probably wont ever because it is really just that rare a car. I just made this page so others can apperciate probably one of my favorite cars. If you have any information/pictures about this car that i do not have, or notice anything that is incorrect, please leave a message in the book as i would like to learn as much about it as possible. The 924 Carrera GTS and GTR models were radically different from any other 924. A stripped-out interior covered by aluminium and fibreglass body panels helped to reduce weight. Thoroughly re-worked suspension, including coil-springs and new trailing arms, helped keep everything under control. And ventilated, cross-drilled disks pinched from the 911 Turbo helped these road-legal racing cars stop. A mere 19 GTR models, virtual replicas of the 1980 Le Mans racers, were produced with power raised to 375bhp. And the engine? A little more boost from the turbo, allied with some careful tuning pushed output up to 275bhp for the GTS and a staggering 375bhp for the GTR. Compared to the 924 Turbo, the Carrera GT models were lowered by 10mm at the front and 15mm at the rear; the airflow under the car was also cleaned up. A front air-dam and enlarged rear spoiler were also applied and the resulting drag coefficient was an impressive 0.34. With the weight down to 945kg, the GTR sprinted to 60mph in 4.6 seconds and would carry on accelerating right up to 180mph. Which is probably why it finished sixth overall at Le Mans. Now what was all that about "real" Porsches? Now for some info about the car. It was powered by a 2.0L (thanks to porsche924gt for the correct info) turbo charged engine that produces over 375 horsepower. It was capable of 199mph as a top speed i have read, but i am unsure of how valid that number is. Its zero to sixty time was 4.9 seconds, but again i am unsure if that is a accurate number.
