This is my 93 5.2L dakota(my daily driver). my Dad picked it up for $200 in '05 after a car accident(which made it into the latimes.com). my dad used to drive it but since he bought the '00 civic he gave it to me. right now it has about 175,000 miles on it and is still running excellent. I plan to rebuild it this summer (may or june). I still haven't decided if I'm gonna stay with the stock V8 or go with the 383 hemi my buddy's not using. I'm taking it in this week to get it painted black. i started painting it today but I only had 2 hours of sunlight and no electric sander. the trucks been broken into three times since we bought it. the first time they smashed the driver's window (thats why its not tinted) and kicked in the dashboard to steal the deck my dad put in. the second time, about a month later, they pryed the split window open breaking the lock and stole the deck that was in there. the third time they didn't steal anything because we put in a factory chrysler stereo( you know the $540 one you can get from the dealer). since then i put an alarm in and have it set to the most sensitive setting (good luck). Today I painted the rims black in anticipation of the new paint color...
Actually they turned out real well. So far since June '08 I've managed to fishtail off a freeway entrance ramp at 11:00pm on my birthday, fishtail over a curb kinda median thing about the same time exactly one month later(both times was wet weather), got a $109 speeding tickets(46 in a 30), and get into a minor fender bender during a blizzard....can't wait to get my new car in april or may....I have gone offroading with it twice...once in the summer and the other time i tried was in fall after the first few snowfalls around thanksgiving but i didn't get very far because I only have 2wd, it was 1:30 in the morning, and the field was too bumpy i gut stuck in the ruts from the harvest. I couldn't back out, my trailer hitch caught the other side of the ditch and i couldn't go forward because the ruts were to terrible. after about an hour and about twice my buddy over reved the engine causing the truck to stall, I managed to get it turned parrallel to the street and was able to get through the ditch and back onto the road.... note to self: never let my buddy talk me into going through a ditch to get to a field at 1;30 in the morning again....
