             josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Am

thanks to all for looking and please rate me and my boys new trans am project.

its a 1978 with t tops and has a 350 olds and a turbo 350 tranny, out side waiting for me to start working on it.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Amsomething funny..

this was the picture that caught my eye in the ad that was posted on the net one day ,the car was at a scrap yard in kingston  ,i never even saw the car i just new it was going to be ours.i took a chance and sent a pick up the next day, payed the guy and had the car shipped to my house,it was a good choice because this car started all what you are going to see......this is the story.

today i had the chance to look the car over the car and found the floors in ok condition.my boy will help along with this car,he is 9 years old.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Ami pulled the rear carpet and the lower seat and the floor was good here.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Amthis is the driver side floor, some  patch work done ,i got the car it was very wet inside ,so the carpet is wet, check page 3 for the complete floor.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Amthe seats are red but i plan to redo or put another set  inside.i have a pole question so you the viewer can vote on what look i should do in this car please vote and rate my ride thanks, there are some samples of the seats that i might go with ,keep going.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Ami found these mags very cheap, funny thing they match the color of the car now,i will redo these in matt black.

does anyone know how to pop the hood on these cars ,were is the hood latch cable, its to cold for me to play with it now and i dont want to break something trying.maybe there is a real easy way i would love to know. thanks

well i finally found out how to open the hood, there is a cable with handle in the front lower bumper.

i also ordered a new set of door locks because the locks and the keys do not work ,on the right rear of the wing extention there is damage so i bought an extention from ebay, more pics to come soonjosephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Am.this wing extention is very hard to find.and i found it on ebay.pics are on page 2 of the new part.

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Amthis is a box of little extra parts that was removed from the doors, and has some other things in it.

as i said i finally got the hood open and here are the pics of the moter, its a olds 350,with a 350 trans,i also found out that the frame on this car is from a original z28,the original owner told me .josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Amhere is a pic of the handle in the bumper to open the hood, what were they thinking when they made this car?duuu, gee chuck ive ran out of cable for the hood release i only have two feet left,ok buba put it in the bumper so no one could find it ha,ha,ha burp...there was a shaker hood but now bolted to the hood, like an old dog on a chaine,i will remove       this one day and put it in its place .well if you arejosephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Am wondering what thease things are..........im am to i was not able to open the trunk so i removed the rear seat and took pics to see what treasures wait in the trunk but i cant make out any thing very important..

josephaldonoel's 1978 Pontiac Trans Am

the bandit or concept?

i found a way to open the trunk,i was looking over the car today and i found a  botton

in the glove box...(someone told me) i have no exp with thease cars so i learn as i go...

there is alot of extra trim and dash parts that i found in the trunk.

there seems to be extra trim for the roof liner and the t tops.

maybe from a junker car that was at the scrap yard with the car.who knows

there was 4 arm rests and i found the reason for the metal on the rear window. its for that grill they

had back in the day (louver) (i guess that was the look back then ).

Nice car man.As far as classic look or concept. I say why not have both. Thats going to be my idea. Ive been doing little suttle things with mine that are not factory. You have done a lot of work. Considering I have done much of the same you have I can really respect what you have done. Check out my project 78 Trans Am. Glad you went with the front end you did. Try and find a pontiac 400 block if you can. They are amazing motors. Check out 78ta.com . Great website and the guys there can answer any and every question you have and would love to see your car and hard work. Let me know what you think of mine. Im going to rate yours.
