This is the original 1970 Plymouth Road Runner advertisement and promo car. You can see by the fender tag that it was a very early car with an extremely low sequence number. It also states advertising right on the tag. The order number starts with M which means it was for manufacturer use. The car was originally painted Lemon Twist (FY1) then repainted by the factory Lime Light. The lime light was very evident as the car was disassembled. Everything had been Lime Light at one time. The inside of the trunk, under all of the trim, etc... It is speculated that this is the same car used in the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Promo. It would make since to paint the car Lime Light as yellow does not show up well on film. When we pulled the car apart, there were some strange things. The core support has three studs with nuts much like the 70 coronet. It also had a road runner sticker on the inside of both doors. When the door panels where pulled off, the date on the back of them was early to mid June 1969. You can see that the projected build date of the car is August 1st 1969, the first day of production. The car is currently undergoing a restoration. If you have any information about this car, please send email me. Thanks and enjoy.
This car was featured in April 2009 Winged Warriors newsletter.
