"DIRTBAG"
This is my 1980 Pontiac Firebird Esprit. It was nicknamed Dirtbag by classmates in my high school woodshop class. It was originally a Yellow Bird, but it was in too poor of condition to restore. It was basically a basket case. I purchased the car from a lady who had owned it since 1982 for $250. Most of the car was built from a 1979 Trans Am that my old neighbor was junking. I have been slowly working on it since 2002, and I am still working on it. It still needs some transmission work and a windshield. Then, it should be close to done.

EXTERIOR
Car was primered flat black. All factory aluminium parts were stripped. Wheelwell and door trim was removed and filled. It has a 1973 Camaro trunk lid, 1979 Trans Am doors and hood. Tailights were blacked out every other louver, and homemade aluminium grille inserts were installed. This car has a full factory T-top, which is rare. Car has split exhaust with chrome dump tips. The fenders and trunk lid have '50s styled pinstriping decals.
The 1979 Shaker scoop had three holes drilled, so the engine could get more air. You can hear it hiss while you drive it. The script emblems are off of a 1968 Caprice? and the 6 cylinder badges are of of a 1962 Nova. The bird still remains on the hood as well.

The factory optional Snowflake mags were blacked out.

Benson Tech class of '08! This was my high school car. The were only a handfull of classics at my school, but I drove mine everyday. The rear shelf houses 1980's Pioneer speakers, a cruisin badge, and a bobblehead dog.
