Well,I had always wanted an old Corona ever since my mother had a 78'wagon...but unfortunately I live in the land of salt and rot!It seems that for as many of these cars they sold here, they are mostly gone,or too far gone. But I found one!One that had been stashed in a barn since the original owner had gotten sick in 1988,she was only on her second oil change, and was VERY original, with only 14,000 miles on the clock! This is how i got her.....

....She did not run,and was in need of a gas tank badly(was rotted from the inside)and was infested with ants, bees and scary spiders...So I quickly went to work on getting it to run so  that I could gather the parts it needed.First was the fuel tank...

She would now run,but not stay running due to the octopus of vacuum hoses coming from the stock carb, and prolly bad gas in the lines...Well I had a fix for that, and his name was Weber.

So now she would run,and I gave he a compression test,155 across the board, damn!shes new!!Woo Hoo,but I still had a long road ahead...Like the exhaust...So I added this pacesetter header..

So now I took her around the block, but something was wrong, the clutch didnt feel right and she still needed hoses, fluids, wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, etc and a good cleaning..So pulled the motor and went to town...

So,while her heart was out I decided that I would re-gasket her, paint her,and do away with old school smog gear(trying to free up some sauce). The clutch issue seemed to be the Slave/Master had gone bad,so I changed them along with the lines..But then I removed the trans from the motor I found out that the clutch fork was upside down!Really!I should have taken pics of the clutch/flywheel at that time, but I forgot. The flywheel you see above IS the stock one that my machinist worked magic on,and lightened up slightly.

I also ported the intake at this time, generally cleaned everything and painted as well.I also took this time to fill in the air tubes on the exhaust side of the head,as I would not be needing them.

I also got some new wheels,WEDS from japan, should've taken a before pic but I forgot,I have alot of time in these..

Also made a sweet gas cap with carbon...

Added some Jap fender mirrors and vented the hood...

Finally put the motor back in after about 3 months of waiting to gather parts, new hoses, clutch, and gaskets etc...Along with a Dixie horn--I understand this doesnt fit the car,but I always wanted one and finally got one for xmas from my buddy Josh!So hell yeah Im gonna use it!

And finally she is outside and I have 100 miles on her as of today.I will be waiting for nicer weather to bring her back out.
