Built in 1980 this replica of a 52 MG TD named the "Grand Duchess" was produced by Classic Roadsters in Fargo, ND. The Car has been in the family from new.

A fine 1967 Volkswagen Beetle donated its chassis for the build.

Powered by a rebuilt 1600 cc. air cooled engine this car definitely isn't a 1/4 mile car, but with 64 HP and only 1700 lbs. this 4 speed cruises along well. Engine bay detailing is next on the never ending list of improvements to do. The original wood shifter knob dried and cracked and wasn't repairable. So with a drill press, and a 8 ball from the local supplier a new shifter knob was born.

This is a rare option for any old VW, Air conditioning. With a underdash unit and access panel under the hood for the condensor, there is a electric fan to draw the air from the front, through the grill, and down under the car. Nothing like a cool breeze at a stoplight.

With the limited time we get to enjoy our fine weather rides here, this one never fails to get someone's attention or put a smile on their face. CRUISING RULES!
