needing a good polish but looking good wi TSW Evo-R's though !!!

clewis98774's 1997 Saab 9000

freshly wased n waxed pre Tsw's , note poor 15" 5-spokers on back , the front had fin type 3-spokes , a very poor combination !

also in the family we have a white '94 9000cs tuned courtesey of MapTun to c.285 hp , watch this space for this baby !!!!!

sat 7-feb-2009 : snow in north of scotland so went to play , had great fun , daughter really enjoyed herself to !!!

the good old girl looked right in her element here , handled really well considering wide boots on front!

the road pictured on the right seemed like a good challenge !! managed to get only 400 yards up & got stuck in a drift about a foot deep !!! was just about to give up hope & find a tractor to pull me out but i kept trying & managed to back her out(hence the wiggly tracks pictured) did a j-turn & went back the way i'd come !!!! the steering felt very suspicious like the diff was locked , i put that down to a build up fo snow inside my alloys !!!! managed to drive c.70miles back to my parents house without a hitch, even had some sport with motors on the dual-carrigeway on way down road !!!

left my parents & headed to my home ! taking it fairly gently due to the ice when there was an interesting noise like , a dust seal getting wrapped round a shaft (IF YOU EVER HEARD IT YOU DONT FORGET IT) followed by something metalic bouncing off my floor & tinkling up the road !!!! much worry :( stopped a mile further up the road to investigate & got rewarded with a lot of smoke !!! every gear was working fine , but i was worried !!! I drove the remaining distance home & forgot about it till morning !!! next morning drove back to parents then fathers workshop where we put her up on the hoist !!!  oil all over floorpan but no obvious cause , i put my hand over the diff to feel for anything adrift & boy is that what i found !!! the piece pictured left is merely a sixth of the size of the hole in the casing !

NOW UNFORTUNATLY MY BABY WAITS REPAIR , SHE IS PARKED AT MY PARENTS HOUSE TILL NEXT WEEKEND WHEN DAD & I WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO ! my finances stop me from buying a new gear-box at present , but i got a box of a non-turbo 9000 cs, which has selector problems on 1st & 2nd synchro !! However we are going to try & graft the working internals of the aero box , into the 9000 cs casing !!! it's going to be a long day !!!!! will post photo's og this op soon !!! now i'm driving a 900s from 1991with over 300,000 miles on the clock!! it's my mothers car so i better not bust it ha ha ha ha ha !!!!

There is noting wrong with saab engineers imagination. 4x4 just dident make it to produktion. if iam not mistaking there were 5 4x4 9000 testcars. nice car! //Niklas Agnesson
