The project had some setbacks with transmission related fitment issues. First the converter spacing and input shaft length was off; after that was solved then the SFI bellhousing caused issues with the headers and the rack and pinion, so we went back to a factory bellhousing. The alternator was from the original motor and turned out to be a Chevy alternator; that combined with the Unisteer pump created alignment issues with the pullies. On top of these issues, the battery and starter solenoid were relocated, the entire fuel system and transmission cooling lines have been replumbed. Every little detail takes time! We are about a week away from the start up.
