Upgrades

Discretionary modifications have been made when it enhances driveability and safety.

  • H4 halogen headlamps  Much brighter than the stock sealed beam halogens and incandescents.
  • Pertronix electronic points replacement module  No more adjusting points.
  • Hot start relay Bypasses 30+ year old wiring going from the battery to the ignition switch
  • Retractable Seat Belts A much-needed improvement. New German belts from GoWesty .
  • Backup camera  Mounted in the trailer hitch, so I can see behind me.
  • In-dash DVD player  Features a 7" retractable LCD display. iPod compatible.
  • Front and rear speakers Panasonic 6"
  • Tinted windshield   PPG. With a darkened band across the top.
  • ABS Plastic Front Kick Panels Waterproof, and much better looking than the originals.
  • Cup holders Fit in the dash where the ash tray goes. Also holds my iPod.
  • KYB gas shocks  Replaced the original oil filled shocks in the rear.
  • Trailer hitch  Custom fabbed by the previous owner.
  • Parcel tray  Also custom by the previous owner.
  • New poptop canvas  Thicker than the original, and has zippered windows on each side.
  • Aluminum timing scale  With etched timing marks, easier to read than the plastic one.
  • Bosch Blue Coil
  • Vent Shades Because they are so cool
  • Leather curtain tie straps (the vinyl ones are terrible)
  • Reflectix Insulation From Lowe's. Two layers of bubble wrap coated in aluminum foil, I put it in the front doors and behind the kick panels in the cab. Helps a lot with insulation and soundproofing.
  • LED Bulbs for the tail lights
  • Powder Coated Wheels  (new!)
