I traded in my 2006 Mazda MX-5, the car I drove in the 2007 SCCA Solo National Championship, for my 2007 Pontiac Solstice as a **mumble-mumble** birthday present to myself in 2007. I opted for the non-turbo version as I wanted to remain in C Stock for SCCA Solo competition. It's been a wonderful autocross car (as seen in the following photos) and I get a lot of compliments about it. To prepare it for solo competition, I swapped out the stock Bilstein shocks for adjustable Koni Sport shocks, replaced the stock front anti-sway bar with a 36mm aftermarket bar, replaced the air filter with a K&N lifetime filter and bought a set of 18" lightweight SSR Type-CRS wheels and mounted Kumho Ecsta V-710 racing tires on them. I tow the above-mentioned wheels and tires to the solo courses on a tire trailer hooked on a hitch behind the Solstice.
