I Don't really know much history behind this "B"...

Have you ever had a car you loved to drive so much that you just went out and used up a tank of gas just driving around the countryside.... I DO!

I bought it out of the Paper in Charlotte, in September, 2008.  Had fresh outside body work complete, fresh paint with only 2 bad parts in paint.  Back bonnet has scratch that was touched up where a dealer sticker might go, and chip on front of hood...  Floor boards will need to be replaced in the future, wish they would have done that with all the other body work done....

No wonder my ratings dropped... all my pics went away!

What I pretty much started with.

A Few resorations later... see list below.

The New Engine is in... See page 11 for more pics!

Electrical was my biggest first project... it is an  MG and I am assured this will be one project that continues for the life of the car.  Light switch started on fire while I was working on the Door.  Glad I was there, unhooked battery and it went out.  Turns out all of the lights, parking, marker and headlights go through the same wire on the switch.  Blue wire for marker lights does nothing... have yet to trace that down.

I have fixed the following electrical:

Headlights now work, Highbeams work correctly, replaced turnsignal and dimmer switch.  Replaced intrument dimmer, it was shorted to full on, no adjustment.  Fuse box wired all wrong, figured that out after riping out console and re wireing the radio since time reset every time I started car, and station went away.  When the Fuse box wires were put right (Brown wire is battery, one of those on ignition, and White ignition was on battery terminal)  The radio was rewired once again.... Replaced the horn switch, now the button in the center of wheel works and the little switch under th dash is gone.  Break lights, turn signals, flashers all work now.  Replaced fuse box with modern ATO 8 circuit type to break out separate functions to smaller fuses that will blow before the fire goes out!

I Replaced one tail light assembly, the heater valve and blower motor, Windshield washer motor and bag, Starter Solenoid, Break light switch, pressure switch and dash test switch, Plastic Battery tubs added and system is one 12 volt battery vice the two sixes... now have a little storage compartment for tools and parts.

The Interior was in pretty good chape, new cheaper carpet, now all glued down and only a couple of small cuts in the seats.  I added a couple of armreast Door pulls, and replaced the hardware on the counsel rest, new boot for the shifter, and new knob since the other was glued on...

I did have to replace the ring and pickup under the steering wheel to get horn to work and realized that the steering column is 180 degrees out.  The tab to turn off signals is on the wrong side and the steering wheel is upside down for the function, but right side up for driving right now.  I think I will heve to break at the U-joint and turn around.  BTW: I found out that on my year, there is a coupling under the dash... removed 3 bolts, and turned 180 degrees and Walla.... Straight stering!!!!

You've done a great job on this classic roadster. High Five***** I know exactly what you mean about using up a tank of gas, just cuz you don't want to stop driving around. I have done the same thing with my little roadster.
