RabbidRabbit's 1984 Volkswagen GTI

Days after my unfinished project car left Little Falls (see my other Rabbit GTI page), the new bunny came along.  My wife felt bad for me that I had been into that project for over two years and never got to drive it. So, this is the new one.  I will post what's been done to it as I figure it out myself.

I know from the CarFax that it started out in sunny California and lived there until it went to Oregon in the 1990s.  From what I can figure out, a guy named Isaac did the resto on it. Fom there it got sold to the son of a car dealer in the Chicago area, and now I have it.

Mods that stick right out are and Autopower roll bar, Audi A4 door handles, shaved locks and one mirror, cabby red taillights, Hella grill and Euro bumpers....

More on performance and interior coming.  Enjoy the pics

Don't worry... All that cheezy red will be gone this summer.  It's just too cold right now to be painting parts.  I have a local guy who does killer powdercoat, so maybe he can make the red all nice and black..

Motor: Bored to 1.9l, 8v solid lifter head, ported and polished, shaved head with oversized intake valves, Euro downpipe, lightweight wrist pins, Hor technologies 284 street cam, Schrick high tension valve springs & titanium valve retainers, lightened flywheel, Kennedy 3 band pressure plate, Clutchnet 6 puck sprung clutch.

Well, it is now on the road and ready for spring.  Just counting the days now. I did go for the vanity plate... RabbidRabbit's 1984 Volkswagen GTI
