dj_dupa's 1993 Acura Integra

I just installed an Alpine MRV-T505 amplifier in my 93 Acura Integra RS. I found many other sites with instructions on how to do this, but none were very clear. So I decided to make this set of simple instructions with photos.

First, connect the remote and RCA cable from the deck to the amp. Run the wires down under the center console so they cannot be seen.

Take out the panel that covers the screws under the rear ashtray. Here there will be two screws. Remove them. Next, under the handbrake, there is another panel that can be removed. Remove the panel and loosen the 2 screws there, since its a bitch to remove them. This will let you lift the the end of the console under the rear ashtray, providing you with a spot to begin running your cables under the carpet.

Under the rear seat, there is a plastic clip that keeps the carpet attached to the ground. Remove it and this will give you access to stick your hand under the carpet and pull the wires through. Now you can re-attach the center console and run the wires to the left or the right. Put the wires under the seat and pull it through to the trunk. Now you can connect the remote and RCA cables to your amp.

The next issue is connecting power to the amp. The amp should have a direct positive connection to the battery.
The battery in a 93 Integra is located to the left if you are looking onto the engine. From the battery, there are many wires that branch off into a single rubber grommet, where the red wire is coming out of in the picture below.

Always make sure that you are using the right gauge power wire as to your amps needs. (Look inside manual for exact specs). Take a screw driver and wrap the power wire around the tip. Push the screw driver through the rubber, making sure that you are not cutting any other wires in the process. Under the glove compartment, you will see a box like the photo below.

It is practically impossible to see behind this box. Remove the carpet clip, along with the carpet and the foam, to allow you to get to the firewall, behind this box. Look for where all the wires from the engine enter the car. If you have pushed the screw driver and wire in far enough, you will be able to pull the wire in. Once you successfully pull the wire through, leaving some for the battery connection, hide the wire under the plastic that runs under your passenger door, as the photo below shows.

Run the wire along the side of the rear seat and into the trunk. Connect to your amp power terminal.
For a good ground, take out the board and carpet in the trunk.

Drill a small hole in the metal body of the car.

Using the same gauge wire as your power, simply screw in the wire to the body for a good ground. Connect it to your amp.

The final step is connecting the actual power to amplifier. Before continuing, disconnect the negative power lead from the battery for your safety. Make sure that your power wire is fused properly, as in the photo below. Make sure you have the proper fuse for your amplifier, otherwise your amp may stop working properly when it gets fried.

The final step is to run a wire from the fuse to the battery. Usually when you buy the wiring kits, it has a wire with a ring on the end. If you don't have a ring on the end, you can buy these rings for $0.59. Attach the ring to your positive terminal on your battery. Re-attach the negative lead. Thats it. Make sure your speakers are properly connected to the amp and test it out.

UPDATE! All equipment in this audio presentation has been stolen, so I upgraded to a Rockford Fosgate 250M amp and 2 12" RFZ3412's. Sounds Sweet! Also lowered it with Skunk2 Coilovers 3" and added JDM one piece headlights and custom clear red/white taillights.
