This is my 68 Merc that I have had for 10 years.  I'm the 3rd owner of this car.  I got it with 86,000 miles on it.  The previous owner beleaved that it had a flat camshaft.  I found out it only needed a distributor and it has been running like a top ever since.  It has a stock 302 and a C4 Transmission.  It also is a factory air condition car.

I then decided to convert it to stock disc brakes off a 1969 Montego.

I dove it for several years until about 2005 when I decided to tare into it and do it right.  I Gutted the interior!!  I then painted and sealed the floor boards which had no rust.  What a releif that was.

After gutting the interior I decided to start removing the eblems, trim & chrome.  It was time to paint it jet black!!  Very minimal body damage.

Installed a HEI distributor.  Also a Edelbrock performer intake and 600CFM carburetor.  I plan on installing Flowtech headers that have been ceramic coated by HPC coatings in SLC.

Within the last year I had it painted jet black!!!!!  It is just a PPG base coat clear coat.

The interior is a vinyl.  I has Just Dashes in CA redo the dash.  They did a fantasic kob with it.  Charles Stuart in WY seawed new seat belt webbing.  Most of the stock replacement parts were purchased through Dearborn Classics.

Curently working on the last little odds and ends.  Installing the chrome bumpers and trim that was done by crown Plating in SLC..  Will get some new pics as soon as winter breaks!!

The wheels are a progresive 15 7'.  With BFG Radial TA.  The fronts are 205/65/15 and the rears are 285/60/15.

Excellent ride! I only wish that the oil crisis would have happened later so I could have that late 60's POWER!! 5 stars and keep up the great work.

Wow, that's sexy. Not so sure I like the jet black on the Montego, but that's personal preference. Dad's Montego was beige and mine's sea-foam green, so I think I'm biased towards the lighter end of the spectrum there. I think its weird to see that bright chrome grille and bumper framed by all that darkness. But, hey, that's just my take on it. I can see you've put a lot of work into her restoration, and it shows. Its great to see another of these great old land-yachts on the road again. Rock on, man, five stars.
