FINALLY GOT OUR STATE INCOME TAX BACK SO CAN FINALLY GET MOVIN ON THE CAR AGAIN, WOOHOO!

AS YOU CAN SEE, FIRST THING I DID WAS STRIP OFF ALL THE OLD PAINT FROM THE ENGINE BAY AND WHEEL WELLS THEN SEEM SEALED IT TO GIVE IT A SMOOTHER LOOK AT ALL THOSE RUFF EDGES. AS YOU CAN SEE THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE SAME PLACE FOR SOO LONG THAT A LITTLE RUST STARTED TO FORM SO I HAD TO STRIP IT DOWN A LITTLE AGAIN IN SOME PLACES BEFORE SENDING IT OFF TO THE HYDRAULIC SHOP FOR A MAKE OVER OF THE SETUP. HERE YOU GET THE FIRST VIEWS OF THE NEWLY CHROMED SUSPENSION FOR WHICH I HAD TO PUT IN TO GET IT ON THE WHEELS AND BE ABLE TO MOVE IT ONTO THE TOW TRUCK.


HERES THE PICTURES OF IT AS I GET IT READY TO BE TOWED TO REDS HYDRAULICS. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE PRIMER SPOT WHERE I HAD TO DO BODY WORK, BESIDES THAT THE BODY WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY STRAIGHT, ON THE ROOF, THE ONLY REASON THERE IS PRIMER IS BECAUSE I STRIPPED DOWN MOST OF THE PAINT TO MAKE THE LINES SHARP AGAIN AFTER YEARS OF PAINT BUILD UP HAD ROUNDED THEM OFF A BIT, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE BODY LINES WERE NICE AND SHARP AGAIN. I ALSO TOOK OUT THE OLD SEALER ALONG THE ROOF AND PUT SOME FUSOR SELF LEVELING SEALER WHICH LAYED OUT NICE AND SMOOTH ON ITS OWN.


HERE THE CAR IS AT REDS HYDRAULICS AFTER THEY DID THERE WORK. YOU CAN SEE HERE THE SET UP LOOKS GOOD, BUT HAD TO HAVE THEM MOVE THE BATTERIES FARTHER IN TOWARDS THE WHEEL WELLS SO THE TAILLIGHT BUCKETS WOULD FIT. HAD FORGOTTEN TO MENTION THAT TO THEM. TOO BAD I DIDNT HAVE PICTURES OF THE TRUNK BEFORE BUT IT USE TO ONLY HAVE 4 BATTERIES THAT WERE IN THE CENTER AND THE TWO PUMPS WHERE NEXT TO EACH QUARTER PANEL. HAD THEM REDO THE SETUP WITH 6 BATTERIES OFF TO THE SIDES AND PUT THE TWO PUMPS IN THE MIDDLE SLIGHTLY ANGELED. NOW IT WOULD BE OFF TO MY FRIENDS SHOP TO BE PAINTED.

I WILL BE HARDLINING THE SETUP TO GET RID OF THE BLACK HOSES AND CLEANER LOOK LATER ON, AS YOU CAN SEE I ALREADY HAVE A CUSTOM BUILT BOX INSIDE OF THE TRUNK WHICH CAN NOT BE TAKEN OUT, IT ONCE HAD 2 12" JL AUDIO W3'S IN IT WITH A PORT TO THE REAR DECK. I WILL PROBABLY BE FIBERGLASSIN THE BOX LATER AS WELL.


HERES THE CAR FRESHLY PAINTED AT MY FRIENDS SHOP, THE COLOR IS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL COLOR BUT WITH METAL FLAKE. THE COLOR DOESNT LOOK THAT GOOD BECAUSE I TOOK THESE PICTURES WITH MY CAMERA PHONE.

HERES THE MOTOR HOW IT LOOKED BEFORE....THIS IS THE SAD PART, EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE PICTURE I DID AFTER I TOOK THE MOTOR OUT OF THE CAR RIGHT AFTER TEARING IT DOWN, BEFORE THAT IT WAS ALL ORIGINAL....IT TOOK ME SOO LONG TO DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR AGAIN THAT I TORE IT ALL DOWN AGAIN AND THEN DECIDED TO GO SERPENTINE INSTEAD OF VBELT.

SO HERES THE MOTOR ALL STRIPPED DOWN AGAIN, AND NOW I FINISHED BUYING ALL THE STUFF TO UPGRADE THE ENGINE





THESE ARE A FEW OF THE THINGS THAT WILL BE GOING INTO THE MOTOR WHEN ITS TIME TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE CAR.


HERES THE BEFORE AND AFTER WHEN I STRIPPED DOWN THE DASH, I WILL BE BONDOING THE LITTLE DEFFECTS IN THE DASH TO PAINT IT ALL TO MATCH THE OUTSIDE.


HERES THE REAR DECK STRIPPED DOWN TOO. WILL BE FIBERGLASSING AND BONDOING IT AS WELL TO PAINT IT. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE PORT THAT IS BUILT INTO THE REAR DECK FOR THE SUBWOOFERS. THE DASH AND DECK WILL BOTH PROBABLY BE GETTING THE PATTERNS AND STRIPING ON THEM TO FLOW AS ONE PIECE WITH THE TRUNK AND HOOD.


HERES THE FIRST STEP OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MAKEOVER. I REMOVED THE ORIGINAL GAUGES AND SHAVED OFF THE EXCESS PLASTIC TO FLATTEN IT OUT.


HERE I ALREADY BEGUN THE FIBERGLASSING TO MOLD IT INTO SHAPE. THIS WILL HAVE A SINGLE OVAL UNIVERSAL GAUGE CLUSTER FROM DAKOTA DIGITAL. I HAVE ALMOST FINISHED IT WITH MINOR DETAILS TO DO TO IT NOW. I WILL POST UP THE PICTURES SHORTLY OF THE WAY THE GAUGE CLUSTER LOOKS NOW. WITH THE FIBERGLASS DONE AND NOW IN THE BONDO STAGES.

HERE YOU CAN C WHERE I FILLED THE INDENTATION OF THE GAUGE WITH BONDO THAT WASNT FILLED COMPLETELY WITH FIBER GLASS. THIS IS BEFORE I START CARVING EACH INDIVIDUAL LINE OUT, SO YOU CLEARLY SEE WHERE IT USE TO BE.


HERE YOU CAN SEE A LITTLE MORE OF THE DETAIL ON THE CLUSTER NOW WITH THE LINES ALL CARVED OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE SHAPE GIVIN TO THE HARD EDGES LEADING TO THE CENTER CLUSTER....HARDLY NOTICABLE THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY 3 GAUGES. STILL NEEDS A LITTLE MORE DETAIL AND FITMENT BEFORE IT IS COMPLETELY FINISHED.
