1971 Dodge Challenger R/T
This is my Challenger which I have owned since 1987. I restored the car around 1992 and drive it as often as the weather allows here in southeastern Michigan. While it has always had a 383-4bbl under the hood, I have had several different transmissions in it, depending on what I was trying to accomplish with it at the time.

This car's main use is an "ice cream getter" for myself and the family, but will see the local dragway at least twice a year. Decent acceleration has always been important to me, so this heavy old car can do that relatively well for a B-engined Dodge that tips the scales at nearly 3,700 lbs. Best e.t. with the 4spd manual trans back in it and the Polyglas tires is 12.92 @110mph. It has gone just over 2/10's quicker when I had an automatic installed, but I decided to go back to factory specs with the 4spd.

Getting ready to make a pass at Milan Dragway, October 2008.

Unrestored interior showing some wear with 100k on the clock.

Freshly built 383 by Best Machine in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
