This is my 1988 Nissan Pathfinder.I got it with a 3" body lift, badly worn BFG All terrains 32/12.50-15 and a whole lot of work to do. There was some fiberglass and bondo work on the passenger side by the previous owner. And sadly, "Paint me" was painted on the driver side and a smily face on the hood. The Car has as of 1/25/09 262,397 miles on it.

I am a High School Student who plans to be a Mechanical Engineer, with a Background in Automotive Technology. All my work on the Vehicle will be "professional" and no "red-neck" or "1/2 A**" work. My personal belief is "you repair something right, period."

Where it was kept there were 3 little boys that learned how to use a baseball bat the wrong way. So all the exterior lights were smashed, and exterior mirrors. The Driver door handle and trunk handle were broken off, and the trunk wouldnt open as well.

I found it in this current state having not been touched for 2 years. The suprising thing was that I jumped the battery from my dad's jeep to the pathfinder, bypassed the ignition switch, and turned it with a screw driver, and it started right up.

My goal is to repair the car to be legal to pass NC state Inspection requirements, and one day sell it to pay for college Books, room and board and whatever else I cant use to pay it with.

Since when I found it I have:

-New fluids -oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering

-Replaced all the lights and mirrors

-Compounded the Paint me and Smily face off.

-Repaired the door and trunk handles

-got the trunk open

-and removed some minor surfcae rust on the frame, and spray painted the frame black, the right way.

Future necessary repairs consist of:

-Replacing Ball joints

-Interior carpet, wiring, lighting, and console repair/ wash

-Extended rust removal

-Rear Diff service(leaks)

-And a good amount of paint all over...

Wanted Parts: Brush Guard/ Grill Guard,

BFGoodrich All-terrains or Mud-terrains -32/11.50-15

**If you know anyone that has these parts for cheap or are willing to part with them let me know .

Let me know if you have any recommendations on what I should do to my Pathy for just maintanance purposes. And I can not afford to swap IFS to a solid axle, I will just get that out there.

Thanks for viewing!

The coil spacer is not actually any kit, they're custom front strut spacers, but there's a custom subframe drop kit that a guy out in UT has been working on for me for a while now, so hopefully I'll be rockin an extra 4" of lift & 33's or 34's. Do you ever go to URE? Have you gone by & checked out the NOAS (Nissan Offroad Association Southeast) club (noas4x4club.com)?
