she looks clean. cant wait to see what youll do with her... the 305 has potential but not worth it dollar for dollar. dont let anyone tell you how to build your car.

Nice car. I just put in a 350 tuned port up from a 305 tpi in my 85 Z. The power is noticeably different. I would definitely advise you to not bother with a 305, as you wont end up paying much more for a 350 anyway. You'll want to find one complete with the ECM and wiring harness, if at all possible. If you've got some cash lying around, look into an LT1 or an LS1. You'll end up paying twice as much for the same amount of power in a carbeurated motor than you would with a stock LS1, and you'll get twice the mileage with fuel injection. Find a decent junkyard and keep your eyes peeled, or poke around on ebay until you find a deal.

thanks a lot for the comment. I'm a Chevrolet tech and my advise man don't even bother with the 305. they are barely better than your stock motor. if you wanna go for more power, strengthen the chassis and drop in a carb 350 or 383. you can build a good 350 real cheap.
