I had been looking for a XJC for about two years when this one popped up on Cragslist. It had the stock 15" alloy wheels but I found some 16" IROC rims that were much nicer. I could put some bigger meats on it. I'm kind of a road race guy and like the idea of top end speed plus good handling. Drag racing always seemed to be a little too harsh on something you would like to keep for a long time.

I never went down to see the car but called the guy and said I would pay his price if the thing was not a rust bucket. He said it was solid but the dash was out and it would need "a little work". Also, there were "some interior parts in the trunk". It was also minus an engine and tranni.

That's when I found out that only XJC stuff would fit an XJC. A year later I found another XJC on Ebay. The car was orginally from New Jersey and sad to say pretty much eaten through from rust. The interior however was all in tact. The Ebay guy had bought it and shipped it to Las Vegas where it sat for a year. He really got fuc*** on the deal. There was no way he could restore this car. I picked it up for 601 dollars. I called up a buddy of mine and we made the 1000 mile round trip in my 75 Chevy 3/4 ton hauling my trailer and brought it home. It was even to sad to take pictures. I yanked every screw and bolt plus all of the interior down to the black carpets and installed it in mine.

I started building a 350 4-bolt for it. I'm looking for 400 hp. Nothing radical. I also came accoss a custom billet grill. I wanted a little more air going through things and modified the hood to form a scoop. I then bought a "69 XJ6 for the early bumpers, red lens and a few other odd peices. The US mandated bumpers were just to plain ugly.
My next step is to pick up a rebuilt 700R and bolt it to the 350 so I can drop the works into the "C". I'll be using a B&M rachet shifter cuase I really like the looks and operation.

It's been a crazy project because of the number of cheap Jaguars I have picked up during this project. So far, I have purchased five more Jags for "donor" cars, including my "69 that I ended up using as my daily driver. GOT PARTS?
