car_menu's 1955 Chrysler New Yorker

.
.

I restored this New-Yorker and am still doing so, I wanted it to look mostly orignal but with fresh paint (pearl blue/green) and a touch of new style, like the wheels etc.
It has factory power brakes, power steering, powerflite auto transmission (standard on the new yorker 4dr c68 sedan), air-conditioning with air filtering- movie star status for 1955! (via a electric unit in the trunk which can either recycle air in the car or suck in air from out side), front window demister etc
Has 3-speed wipers(advanced for '55) and a clock with power back up (advanced!)
The car used to be 6volt, but I had it converted to 12volt.

Chrome in-side and out was re-chromed, there was nearly 50 bits to do!
The interior is all new as well, thats mostly white. (page2)

Photos don't tell the story, in person the car is a total gangsta car.

Alot of people don't know this, the New-Yorker Deluxe was one of the worlds fastest 4 door cars, and the C300 (331 HEMI coupe) was Americas fastest car.
The car was designed by Virgil Exner who designed alot of famous objects of desire including some Lincolns.
The BIG-BLOCK "Wedge-HEMI" puts out the best sound, and alot of power. The engine has been bored out and fitted with a racing cam and 625crn 4 barrel carb. It has 2.5" twin pipes (similar to factory). The engine is fully rebuilt and runs perfect.

I plan to never sell this car, but still want to do alot of work to the chassis.
This car has cost me alot of time and money but it was worth every dollar and I love it.

ANYONE TRIES TO JACK THIS RIDE, GETS THEIR WIG SPLIT

#1 interior and #1 exterior
it was in both spots for a while, but this screen shot is from 10Oct2003.
Glad to see there are still people out there who respect classic American rides.
Thanks to everyone that liked it and voted for it...
