This car started out as a beat up 95 Sunfire Covnertible, I gave $500 and a cd player for it and drove it home. It had a broken shifter cable, and the guy thought it needed a tranny. The top was so shrunken and torn it flapped in teh wind on the back, and sported an L shaped hole in the roof from where someone decided they needed to have the stero out of it.About a week later the stock engine blew out of it(with help of me and wipe open shift due to the broken shift cable). Rod started knocking. Found out that since my car was a 95 manual tranny the older version of the Quad4 would drop right into my car and work, largly due to the lack of the cam sensor found on the autos and 2.4s of late.A friend sold me the donor car, a 90 Beretta GTZ. Car came with an HO Quad4, 180hp, more aggressive cams, higher CR, better flowing head. That'll do the trick. Dropped right in and ran great.A little later down the road, the upgrades came again, rebuilt her into W41 status. Landed an "086" for it. The best flowing head for the engine and also has larger valve by a few MM. The W41 cams, same lift but longer duration. The W41 was good for 190 in stock trim, and gave a nice lope at idle, not bad for upgrading with stock parts.Alas I was limited by the stock PCM, its rev limiter would kill me half way thought the power band. The stocker PCM would cut me short at about 6200RPM, a grand short of where the W41 begs for a shift.
