This is my 1962 EK Holden Ute
I picked this up from 1 of my Dad's friends for 2 and a half grand (mint. condition) and when i got it it was in a shed undercover and out of the weather which was good. It has a 3 on the tree manual transmission.

As you can see it is in immacalute condition and looks finished but there is still a lot of smaller things to do at the moment, but you will see the list later on down the track. In these pics you can see that the car is low, it looks good but i couldnt drive it as the wheels would scrape on the guards.
I soon enough found some new springs and put them in and now there's no scrape and feels better to drive. It also looks like a real old holden now.

This is my engine bay. It looks a bit un tidy but im working on it. There is a little bit of rust but not much, that is the only rust on the whole car.

The motor i have in it is a 138 grey motor, straight 6. Once i had got it going i connected the twin carbs you can see. There is a little bit of rust on the side of the motor but not much.

I have also hooked up a air horn. Its pretty loud and you can hear it from down the street. It makes a "BAHOOOOGAAAA" sound.

This is a picture of the dash. When i first got the car the original stereo had been cut out (where the black case) so the glove box could'nt shut. The silver bits on the side where missing to so in the end i found new one's of them and found a case for the whole. I got that welded in there then painted it, so now i have a glove box! :)
These are my 13" rims.
The Renmark Show Ute Comp
On the 25th of October there was a Ute Competition in the annual Renmark Show. I entered the EK into 2 catergories, Best Local Ute and Oldest and Most Loved Ute. When you enter into a category your automatically into the category called "Ute of the Show".

On showday I got up early and washed the car and shined up the rims and all the chrome on the car to make it look good.

The car and me on showday

At the end of the day first I won the Oldest and Most Loved Category.

Then 2nd I won Ute of the Show.

These are all my winnings from the show. For Oldest Most Loved Ute i got the trophy a t-shirt and 5L of motor oil....and for Ute of the Show i got the cup, and ice bucket and 2 light force spotlights :)
What I have done
The things that i have done to the car so far are: New Recond. Radiator, the brakes have been repaired and reconnected, fitted in a airhorn, put in a new dash, new springs to raise, fitted in twin carbs, some panelbeating done.
What has to be done
The things I still need to do are: Install new stereo system and speakers, put in a horn, new rooflining, find some original hubcaps and I also wouldnt mind putting in a 186 grey motor in it if I could find a cheap one.
Keep checking this page out for more updates on how the car is going.
