God Bless Pontiac's
12/13/09 - Alrighty... little by little I am working on my car again. So far I installed the Cold Air Intake, and did the fog lights up jerry rig style sinceit was 10 degrees out side when I was working on them. The next thing I am looking forward to picking up is the exhuast this December. That will probably get installed sometime over the summer or when it gets warm enough to spend all day working on the car. But as for now the CAI is taken care of and all that is left to do for now is the exhuast and the tail lights. After that then I am going to take another break from car mods until I can make some more mullah. Further modifications include rims, and style mods for the inside and outside including a body kit, underglows, and interior modifications. Keep checking back and looking for new mods and post. Peace out.
08/04/09 - So yet again it's been a while people. I haven't really done much but I have some ideas that I would like to put out there and hopefully get people's advice on what I can do with some of these ideas.
So I just got back from comic-con international 2009 and it was a blast, however I don't think I could have seen it all if I wanted too. There were so many things going on at the same time as other things that I had to make sacrifices for the things I really wanted to do. Anyways, I'm back now and I have some ideas for my sound system that I want to bounce off of you people.
I want to change my sub system but I'm pretty limited to what I can do. I bought a Dual, dual sub and enclosure to replace my existing RF subs. As I recall one of my 10" RF Punch Z subs was blown out when I got it so I only had one to begin with. With this Dual sub I put in I want to get another one and have a set of 10" subs. Now the problem, or rather a question is when I put in my second sub, there wont be room for my amp and capacitor. I looked into building a box around my subs but I just don't have the room unless I pull out my subs from against the back seat. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I could do?
So far the only ideas I have had for the amp and capacitor is to put them on top of the subs, put them hanging from on the trunk above the subs, or build a box behind the subs that will case the amp and capacitor. If anyone has ideas that they can come up with based off of these ideas that I had I would love to hear them.
And the last thing about my subs is that they have a port for a 12V wire connection so that I can power the built in lights in the enclosure. Does anyone know how, or rather where I should run this power from because I'm kinda lost and not sure what to do. The only ideas I had was to run a wire from my capacitor to the lights or to run a wire directly from the battery to the lights. What are your people's input on this?
I also ended up buying some 4 x 6 speakers for my front door. The set box that I picked up didn't have the right speakers for the front door so I can't wait to put these new ones in. I will post pictures up when I do that job. Well that's all for now. Keep watching for more updates.
06/04/09 - Sorry I haven't been on lately people. I've been very busy with moving and finding out what I'm trying to do. I hope I can make more improvements to my car. The next improvements I want to make are the Cold Air Intake and the Tail-lights I want. I hope I can make those soon. Keep checking back every month or so and see if I post up anything new.
04/11/09 - I finally got my thermostate changed. Funny story, my fiance and I were about to head up to carson city for the day and we stopped at Arby's on the way up so we could get some food first. When that's when my fiance turned the AC on and locked up my thermostat. Well the good news is we were in town so if need be I could push my car where ever. What was a miracle was the fact that we broke down right across the way from an autozone and what was even better was one of my mechanic friends just happened to be in the autozone getting parts for his car. Well, a long story short, he had some time and we were able to get my car repaired that same day. Unfourtunatly, we did not go to Carson City that day. But that's just one more check off in the repaired box.
03/19/09 - I added some pictures and updated the repair status of my car. The head panel in finally repaired. I am so happy. And while that was taken car of I had the repair shop install some projector headlights with halo's on my car. They look so freaking awesome. They deffinatly improve the look of the car. I've had so many people compliment me on how nice they are. I turn head's when I cruise down the street. OK OK, that last part was a lie. I haven't turned head's yet. But I hope to one day. Anyways, check out the page I added about my head light's at the bottom or just click the link to page 7 at the top. Hope you all enjoy when I have done. I'll have more pictures to post in the future but for now I hope you all enjoy. And don't forget to rate my ride too. Every little bit counts. Peace out.
02/07/09 - So I took my car over to the repair shop yesterday to figure out what the cost would be to fix my car. I found out that it was, I believe it was called the header panel, anywho it's the panel that holds my head lights into alignment and it was completely cracked and sometimes broken off in many different places. They also told me I needed new head lights too because the people I had bought the car from had used screws to hold the lights in place and the clips on those where broken as well. So they gave me a quote and I got to thinking, I wonder if I could get them to install headlights that I already have if I bought new ones. They said they could so with out the cost of headlights the total cost of repairs came out to about $400.00 including the man hours it would take to do the repairs. Also I am going to get the projector head lights I want installed as an added bonus so I won't have to do it myself.
Furthermore, I found out my insurance money is going to be coming in sometime next week hopefully so as soon as that gets here I will buy my head lights and call the rapair shop so they can order the parts and I'll have my car fixed in no time.
01/28/09 - So it's the 28th of January and it just happens to be my birthday today. YEA! To answer a few questions I am 22 now and I didn't do much of anythig this year for it. I woke up, watched a movie and went out to eat with one of my close friends and now I'm writing this. As for what I have planned later on? Well, I don't. I have to go to work in about 20 minutes and I won't be getting off until later tonight. Then I will probably watch another movie and then go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be an even worse day. Tomorrow is my fiance's birthday, but besides that it is also the day that I have to do security training, with pepper spray. I'm not looking forward to it. ::Deep Sigh:: This is turning out to be a miserable year. I hope things get better soon.
01/16/09 - So I found a few problems with my car that I need to look into getting fixed. The first thing I noticed when I bought the car is that the left head light is pointing to the sky. It's not a raelly BIG problem but I decided to get it looked at. When I took it in to have it looked at we found that the braket that holds the light in place is completly broken and needs to be replaced. The bad news is it's a $200 piece alone, not including the labor it's going to take to put it in. Yikes, I know. Anyways, that's not all.
I also noticed the light that indicates what gear your on is either burnt out or broken, so I have to get to it to see which one it is. I hope it's just burnt out. I went out and bought some replacement bulbs for whenever I do get to it.
Another problem I noticed is that my right rear power window seems to have fallen off the track. It shouldn't be to hard to put back on the track, assuming that that is the problem. If not then I will have to get that taken care of at a shop too.
And last but not least the check service engine soon light has just come on so I need to take it down to the local autozone and borrow their code reader so I can figure out why that is on.
I will begin a new page for the repairs that I have to make and if anyone has any advise on what I need to do I would be happy to take it.
01/08/09 - I added some info on page four about how my fiance and I installed the speakers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pictures will be coming soon. I forgot that my fiance took all the pictures on her camera and I didn't upload them before I left so now she has to email them to me. As soon as I get them I will post them up and let you all know. But until then check out the rest of my site.
01/06/09: So it's been a few days since I got my GA and I have already begun to modify it. As you can tell from my site. Anywho I cleaned up my car really good and detailed it with the help of my fiance and also was able to get the head unit in that night too. The next day I took the car over to my parents house and we worked on the speakers, pictures are coming soon. I still have yet to finish installing the speakers and here is the reason why.
We, my fiance a I, had finished installing the rear speakers and had just figuring out how to install the front speakers. We finished putting on the door panel and had just begun to unscrew the door panel. At that moment we heard a shrill scream. I kinda blew it off and thought it was the kids from the park down the street. Then my fiance said to me, "Didn't that sound like your mom?" I thought to myself, yea it did sound like it came from the house. I immeadiatly dropped my screwdriver and bolted through the garage hurdeling any object in my path. No seriously I did, you should have seen it.
Anyways, my fiance went through the front door and I came in through the garage door. As soon as I got in through the door I asked my mom if she was ok. She said, "No, I cut my thumb open." I jumpped to her aid along with my fiance and we both rounded up some paper towels and ice and made a cold compress to stop the bleading. We shut of all the stoves and what not that could burn the house down and left to take her to the hospital. On the way we stopped off at a near-by fire station to see if they could stop the bleeding since my mom was on blood thinners at the time and was worried that she wouldn't stop bleeding. They gladly helped and dressed my mothers wound for us then asked if we were going to the hospital or not. We told them we were heading in that direction and they pointed us in the right direction.
It took us about thirty minutes to get to the ER room and about ten minutes to get signed in and called back. During that time mother told us that she had called us a couple of times and was just about to go outside and get us when we both came rushing through the doors. She told us that she had ran some water on the cut and checked to see how deep it was and told us it was pretty deep. She thought she had cut all the way to the bone. When we got back into the treatment room the nurse started to take the dressing off and then the doctor came in to take over. He numbed the cut, examined it, and ask mother to do some simple movements with her thumb, which she did her best given the fact that they had numbed her thumb. He spread open the cut to take a better look without openning the wound even more and said that as far as he could tell the tendon was still intact. So he cleaned and stiched up the cut and then dressed it and we went back home. She should be healing up nicely but she gave us quite a scare.
Needless to say I will be finishing up the installation of my speakers tomorrow along with posting up pictures and discriptions. Thanks for tuning in and I hope to see you tomorrow.
Ok, so if you saw my other Pontiac site then you know that that is now more of a memorial for a reliable car. So after my car accident I went looking for another car and found this '04 Pontiac Grand Am. So far I haven't done anything to it except for some minor repairs. For instance, the padding on the driver side seat was off so that when you sat in the driver seat you leaned to your right. So I went out and bought a pad that just sits on your seat and gives you extra back and butt suport. Well, I thought that looked a little lame by itself so I went out to look for some seat covers. I found some covers from Pilot Tech and remembered I had seeen the Pilot motorsport brand online and decided to go with the Pilot Tech seat covers thinking they might be the same company. As for the wheel cover? Well, I saw it as I walked down the asile of the auto shop and thought it would match with the seats so I bought it as well. The Seat pading worked out and the seat covers that I bought have extra padding in them as well so that's another plus. As for right now I have some ideas for what I want to do with my new Grand Am but I'm going to wait untill I get back to Fallon before I look into those. I don't plan on getting into anoher accident but, as we all know, life happens.
