Donor car. Even though it wasn't supposed to be , was headed for something totally desamatting , like demo derby . I opted to save it for parts instead .

Recently started looking at different options thatI'd like better than what was factory. So far I'm liking this . I have to admit I got this from an new aquaintance from car domain . I liked what he did , and am liking what I " can do " Too .

ShortyThompson's 1979 Chrysler LeBaronIt's work in process. It was suppose to be a demolition derby car , but somehow never made it . Now I'm making it into a street/drag car with manufacture's parts . I'm just an old school guy that believes in utilizing old school ways . some may refer to it as a budget build , but I like to think of it as recycling available parts . Up grades thus far are obvious ones . Front suspension was donated from a Illinois State police Diplomat , as well as the rearend suspension. It's been close several times , but I've taken it apart each time just because I wasn't happy with the drivetrain I was putting in. To date , we're looking at a big block conversion in the taste of a loball 383ci. that will be transfered to Magnum status . Thus far I've been gathering up more & more parts forthat swap later . This to date we're looking at a 77 model 360 with minor up grades to the ignition & valve train as well as the induction system . diffy gears are stock , but they is a one of two options I'm looking at . The cop car diffy right is bone stock , but has a nice set of 3:90's waiting on it . Option two is a 1967 coronet "B" body 8 3/4 that will upgraded also later on .

Nice car, lots of potential. 5 stars for you. Consider an A motor over that BB motor due to the geometry of the front suspension in these. It's transverse torsion bar set up is weak and the front framerails are also weak. If you go big block, you may be very disappointed if you do anything more than straight 1/4 mile passes. A friend of mine had a 440 in a Volare and hated it. He stroked a 360 to 410 and went faster than the 440 did. Sold the 440 to pay for the 360&trans. I'll be watching your progress with her. Don't smash her, buy an old chevy to demolish! Preserve the Mopars

Thanx guys . Purple hurts your eyes ? It's my favorite color . Not exactly that flavor , lol . More like a plum , or a burple . I got plans to get this car on the road by this summer . Looking at 2 motor options once again , a bb , and a sb . Collecting parts as I go , lol . Thanx again
