New hood off craigslist just needs some sanding and then the paint. Not bad for just 50 dollars.

Found a bodyshop that could fix the side of the Roush for around $550 which is good since master autobody estimated around $1100.

Update 4/9/2009

The roush is back from the body shop as of today. And the hood went in today to fix the hood and paint it will be about $350. And should be done by wednesday just in time for the McDonald's car show on the 16th.

Update 4/18/2009

Well the hood has been in the shop for about a week now and apparently its taking longer than expected. So it didn't make it back in time for the carshow which made me kind of mad because it would have easily won the mustang 79 and older category. There was only one old mustang there and it was a 66 coupe with a inline 6 and bad interior and he won by default.

4/26/2009

It turns out the hood hasn't been getting worked on because we called to check up on it and the owner of the body shop who does alot of the bodywork has been in the hospital. But i'm glad to say he is back out and his health is fine. So the car should be completly done for the churches car show this saturday.

Just got a Holley 600 cfm carburator

Just got a 289 air gap intake to go with the carburator so it should be installed before too long.

Also had the church car show on 5-9-2009 and took 3rd but not bad considering all the other cars out there I got beat by a 67 camaro convertible and a 66 corvette.

Update 7-7-09

Well today I got a filter that is correct for the 289 hipo's. Now I know I don't have an actual hipo but I added it to run better since its a daily driver. Also cleaned out the carb today and with that and the filter added the car now runs about a 7.9 0-60. Which didn't seem bad to me since its just a 2 barrell 289. But if all goes as planned the 4 barrell and intake will be installed in about 2 weeks.

Now I just need to get out there and give the engine bay a good cleaning. But once its done all the blue will be gone because I plan on getting chrome valve covers to match all the silver under the hood after the intake.

Update 7-13-09

Well I did like the air cleaner I had just recently bought but I found something else and couldn't pass it up. It is a new air cleaner and has matching valve covers. They are chrome and have the words 289 competition proven laser etched into them.

I will get pictures of them on the car after they come in the mail. It will probably be about a week since the car is going to the shop in the next couple days to get the carb and intake installed along with a 1 inch carb spacer. And maybe the steering wheel too.

Update 7-22-09

Well more set backs and the shop is busy so the carb, intake, and spacer are scheduled to be put on the 28th. And the valve covers and cleaner have arrived but i'm waiting to put them on after the shop so they don't get dirty. Then the car should run alot better and be faster and meaner. I can't wait

Update 9-27-09

Car had 4 barrel carb and intake installed about a month and a half ago and forgot to update. Well the car runs great not I couldn't get the holley to tune right so I bought a edelbrock 600 cfm electric choke and it runs perfect. Haven't had a chance to test out the 0-60 due to it currently having transmission problems but it goes 0-50 in 5.34 seconds. So the car is suppose to go to the shop and get the c4 rebuilt by a guy who builds race c4's. A complete rebuild and installation for $550. Also having him put it a B&M shift kit while he has it apart.
