Hay Goldy, I weighed the wheels and tires last night, the RP F1s weight in 17x9, with Toyo RA1s in 275/40/17 weigh 44.3lbs. The stock wheels and tires weigh 46.8lbs 2.5lbs heavier.
I could not tell any difference in straight line acceleration, however I could get on the gas sooner and harder when exiting turns on the race track and carry more speed down the straights. With the 275 Toyo RA1s, slotted drilled vented rotors, and the HawkHP+ brake pads both braking feel and abillity are greatly improved. Lateral grip is also much better and is great fun as I learn to balance the car better. I already added Racing beat sway bars and next is springs to lower CG.
This week I put on the Eibach Pro Spring kit and a set of Konis, also upgrade to racing beat sway bar end links since on of the stock ones came apart in my hand. Today is in for alignment(stock settings plus one degree negative camber on the front). I'll let you know how that works after this weekend.
