Designed and built at the Ford factory in Dagenham, England between 1960 and 1964..
The only car that Ford will never talk about, in fact they would prefer to pretend that it never existed.
Not many were ever built and even fewer are left, I believe that this is the only one on Car Domain.
Production was halted when Ford decided in 1964 to cut their losses due to poor sales figures.
The British public were simply not ready for an American looking space-ship of a car in 1960!

Back to bare metal
Bumpers and mirrors removed and smoothed. Bumper openings smoothed. Locks and badges removed and smoothed. Remote trunk/boot opening lever fitted.

Back from the paint shop! Custom front grill fitted. New door glass and screen rubbers fitted.

Cooper Cobra tires, 14" Fats on the back, 13" slims fronts.
2000E back axle with anti-tramp bars.
Hi-lift springs and telescopic (not lever type) shock absorbers.

Custom twin anti-roll bars. 2000E front struts with remote servo assisted disc-brakes.
New bespoke stainless steel exhuast system with a four into one manifold fitted this week 25-08-2010 .

Custom front grill fitted with matching red rear panels. Crome classic door mirrors and glass sunshine roof.
New rack racing steering system complete with new front suspension due to be fitted next week!

Trunk opens from inside. 2000E gearbox with 4 speed remote stick-shift. Hi-level L.e.d brake warning lights.

Fuel cap behind number plate. Lotus Mk1 Cortina pre-crossflow engine bored out to 1600 + cc. Burton race tuned cylinder head and Piper hi-lift race camshaft.

Massive boot/trunk. Mexico oil pump and Lotus distributor. Twin choke Weber 40-DF15s with on a 4 branch manifold.

Custom interior trim. Kenlow electric air cooling.Sparkrite 400 volt capacity discharge unit.100 amp boot mounted battery.Dynamo to alternator conversion.Capri GT clocks and a Classic 8Track player.Classic Hi-Low horns.

Door dead locks. Kenwood door speakers and rear panel speakers.Most bright work re-plated. Capacity discharge system fitted.. Under bonnet sound reducing felt.. Hho system installed, Gives a cleaner burn, cleaner exhaust gasses and more torque.

Boot lid mounted warning triangle.Custom interior with new carpets and roof liner. Amber indicators instead of all four being red.Classic leather steering wheel cover. Ashley sport exhaust system.Hidden blue Led lights built into the number plate fixings.

The Capri has gone away to have a new exhaust made and fitted, it will also have new front suspension and be converted to take a steering rack. I will post some pictures when it comes back!
