Suspension

Suspension Mods

A-Spec Suspension

December '08 - This is an Acura OEM aftermarket option.  It's considerably stiffer than the base suspension and a bit stiffer than the Type-S suspension. It also lowers the car about 1" in the front and .75" in the rear.  No photos on this as the drop isn't really noticible and the parts look exactly OEM.

Progress Technology Rear Sway Bar

April '09 - Progress Technology produces a 24mm solid diameter rear sway bar to replace the 17mm hollow bar that comes OEM.  It greatly reduced the understeer on the car.  Until now, I never really knew what understeer was or that I had it, until it was gone.  I always assumed that was normal!

R-V6 Strut Tower Bar

April '09 - Richie from R-V6 is the first manufacturer to release a front strut tower bar for our cars.  This is especially helpful to those running Tein SS coilovers with the EDFC system.  This allows the propper clearance for the adjustment motors to fit on the adjustment knobs.  I do not have the EDFC, but I plan on adding this one day, and as these bars are a limited production run, I figured it would be smart to get in on one now.  It's also much more robust than the OEM bar, so there would be some advantage.

TEIN Super Street Coilovers

June '09 - After installing the wheels, I realized that what my car needed more than anything was more of a drop.  I didn't want to sacrafice ride quality, but I also wanted flexibility to raise the car up during the winter months.  The TEIN Super Street Coilovers were the perfect solution to this.  Aside from being height adjustable like all coilovers, the firmness also has 16 levels of adjustment.  With this, I also purchased TEIN's EDFC (Electronic Dampening Force Controller).  It is a system of motors on each shock that can allow me to adjust the firmness from the console in my vehicle.  The total drop right now is set to about 2" all around.  I think this will require me to get a camber kit somewhere down the line.
