I'll have to build this page in stages, so check back every couple of days, as I'll be compiling new pics and documentary to go along with them.
O.k., here we go, a history of my car which friends have nick-named Electric Blue.
First of all, a point that may be interesting to some is that I am the original owner of this car. I got her brand new in 1982. It was my very first car (I had driven moms 1964 Catalina Station wagon up til then, ha). Since then, Ive put 487,652 miles on this car and shes given me a lot of great memories. Shes been surprisingly low on accidents (the few have been other people hitting me), and tickets (just one, can you believe it!?).

I never really raced her (a few times with friends, but that was back when all of our cars were still stock), and I dont do a lot of the work myself, so youll have to forgive me if I cant tell you exactly what a certain part is or how a conversion was done. My job demands a lot of time, so I have to pay others to do the work. If I had the time to learn everything myself, you bet Id be right in there tinkering and tweeking. I will do my best to relate the details I know.

Anyway, Electric Blue will be 21 in December. She started out as a silver, stock RX-7 GS in 1982, as you can see by the pics. My best friend liked it so much, he bought a GSL the following year. (He later sold it and bought a Corvette).

In 1986 I got my first decent job, and so the customization to create Electric Blue began.

The 1st MOD (1986-1988) was the gold wheels, stock hood configuration. The body kit was put on, but at the time, because of cash, I didnt go for the scooped hood. I almost didnt go for the rear deck lid augmentation, but Im glad I took out a small loan for that. The car just wouldnt have looked the same without it.

At that time Tuners werent a huge thing, like they are now. In the mid-80s everybody had mini-trucks, not that theres anything wrong with that, theyre cool too, but Electric Blue was kind of unique back then. You didnt see a lot of import customs on the road. You did run across the occasional tricked out 280ZX, but like I say, I didnt street race her, so for all I know, there were plenty of other cool customs out there, I just never saw many around where I lived and worked.
