This is my Mazda R100 Super Sedan drag car.

Have owned it for around 2 years in which time i have only raced it 3 times due to personal injury suffered.

The car was initally prepared by Tenagah Motorsports . There engine builder Jon Otter built the motor and did the build of the whole car. In that configuration it managed a best of 405hp atw @15psi and 10.18@132mph driven by a close friend.

After the end of that season the motor was pulled down and discovered 6 bent apex seals. The motor was rebuilt by Jon Otter again using a different seal being the Rotormaster race seals. Nothing else in the motor was changed. At this point the Microtech was re-wired, and sent off to be upgraded with new options. The suspension was changed a little with new shocks, and mounting plates and U-bolts used. I also had a Deist parachute fitted. With a new tuner on board, Craig Dyson of Dyson Motorsports , we managed 470hp atw @26psi, using C16 Race fuel. On its first outting at this power lvl the car went 9.998@136mph on its first run. The second was aborted due to a intercooler pipe coming off. Third pass was the 9.80@143mph. The fourth pass for the day was again aborted due to the old clutch slipping.

So thats the story of my little R100 so far. We are hoping to get a new PB of around 9.50@145mph with current tune and setup. At the end of the season a 2-link system will be hopefully installed. We are confident with a little more boost, and a more aggressive tune up the car should see 150mph with the current motor and turbo combination. I personally want to see how far we can push the car with the 26x8 tyre and the T66 turbo before either are upgraded. A new and larger turbo will be first before a larger tyre will be fitted.

Anyway thanks for having a look, and I will try to keep this updated with the latest times and photos as they happen. Dyno and time sheet will be posted up once i get my scanner sorted.

Thanks

Tones
